2005-2007 Head Lights

I don't know if this has been posted before.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has upgraded an investigation into an estimated 103,107 2005-'07 Chevrolet Corvettes over consumer complaints about the loss of low-beam headlights.
The complaints allege that the low-beam headlights stopped working simultaneously and without warning, according to NHTSA.
"GM is continuing to cooperate with the NHTSA in its investigation," wrote Alan Adler, a GM spokesman, in response to an Edmunds query.

WASHINGTON The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has upgraded an investigation into an estimated 103,107 2005-'07 Chevrolet Corvettes over consumer complaints about the loss of low-beam headlights.
The complaints allege that the low-beam headlights stopped working simultaneously and without warning, according to NHTSA.
"GM is continuing to cooperate with the NHTSA in its investigation," wrote Alan Adler, a GM spokesman, in response to an Edmunds query.
Federal safety regulators say they have received reports of 95 complaints about the loss of low-beam headlights.
Earlier, NHTSA opened what is called a "preliminary evaluation" based on reports from consumers alleging that, after driving for a short time (five to 30 minutes), both low-beam headlights stopped working simultaneously and without warning. The low-beam headlights remained inoperative for the remainder of the drive cycle.
GM told federal safety regulators "that the loss of headlights is caused by a fractured low beam circuit wire in the underhood bussed electrical center (UBEC), an electrical assembly that is similar to a fuse box," said NHTSA in its summary of the investigation.
"The UBEC is located in a high heat area near the engine and the low beam circuit wire routing within the UBEC makes it susceptible to cyclical stress caused by thermal expansion."
There have been no reports of crashes, injuries or fatalities linked to the probe. NHTSA has upgraded the probe to an "engineering analysis," which sometimes precedes a vehicle recall.
Edmunds says: GM has not recalled the 2005-'07 Chevrolet Corvette at this point, so there's not much that consumers can do except to be aware of the situation and wait for federal safety regulators to finish their work.
