Question Question: regarding the Cavalcade

I was thinking of posting on the Corvetteforum in the Northeast Section about our Cavalcade of Corvettes with a link to our Cavalcade page at the CCDV site included. I'm talking about more than just a link. It would be a nice post with the link at the end.

Wanted to ask a few questions first.

1) Should I do this? I figured I'd occasionally just bring the post "to the top" so it is seen regularly, especially as the time gets closer to show time.

2) If I do this, are outsiders welcome to enter their Corvettes in the show? I'm sure that question would be asked.

If you think this is a good idea (I do) reply with any suggestions you might have to be included in the post.

I will not make this post at the Corvetteforum until I've been given the go ahead.

The Corvetteforums Northeast Section is a good place to "advertise" an event like this. The Northeast Section has a large regular reader base and I think this could bring a handful of guests to the show.

Glenn:
I think it's a great idea but agree that you should wait for the official OK from the Prez!

We post the Cavalcade there every year. Also make sure Rex Ruby puts it in the Northeast Events calendar.

I think that's a great idea. We are very limited on inside space and Rich Rodgers has a list of cars that he has picked to be in the buildings. I know that we will be able fit more car inside this year BUT at this time I'm not sure on the count. I'll call the show chairman or e-mail him to clear it with him.

I will not do anything with this for at least a week and until I speak with Bill about it.

I know John Porter (RexRuby) and will be sure to contact him also for exposure on the calendar.

Sounds like a great idea Glenn. This is just the kind of thinking outside the box that this club needs. Don

The Cavalcade has been posted on the Forum every year for as long as its been in existance. I don't understand why you think you need the club president's permission to let people know about our premier event of the year. Just don't get Mike826 started on the subject of running another covered bridge tour from this show.

Glenn, I spoke to John Porter about putting it into the NE calendar a month ago and he awaiting the info. Doesn't matter who gives it to him as long as it gets done. As for the thread, check to see if CF has any rules against it and let us know.

We could all ad a link to our signatures that will bring people to this site. Again, we have to ask them if that's ok. I think it would work best if we all had the same or similar logo's. The problem is a lot of people turn off signatures and wouldn't see it. But for those who do, they'd be everywhere!

#2 in my origional post above is the reason I am waiting. 10-4?

Also, I am trying to promote this event for the club. I was not a member a year ago or I would have done it then also.

Last year the Cavalcade ran Saturday & Sunday June 7 & 8

It was posted on the Corvetteforum at 1145pm, Saturday June 7th. ( http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=578699 )

I'd say that was just a tad too late to promote the event.

Being Pro-active makes things happen.

Glad to see that was actually my own thread! Point being, Glenn, when you have an opportunity to promote the club and this event in particular JUST DO IT, don't wait for permission. The biggest fault of this club is its inability to get 500+ members active. Tell everyone you can think of to submit car entries, or to just plan on showing up. Post notes on the internet, put posters in windows, whatever it takes, we need people to show up, even if it rains!

Glenn go ahead and do it. It's better to tell people that the indoor space is filled than to not have enough cars to fill the buildings. Remember that Sunday is a show and shine day and like last year there are awards given. Glenn thanks for stepping up!!!!
