BRYNER & ME in 1957

Think I'm the active CCDVer who has the longest association with Bryner.

Richy,

Two things

1. That can't be your car, it's clean!

2. I heard Bryner tried several times to pay you to go to Lafferty

That 55 was a beauty.

Richy, very very nice car. Pay no attention to all these moronic comments. You are da man at Bryners.

Ya got me beat Richy, I was only 5 and didn't have my first car qute yet. I do remember riding in the back of my grandfathers 55 Chevy to Mullin Chevrolet in Ambler to pick-up his new 57 when they were first unveiled. It was a sad day when he traded it in for a 59 Impala.
Looks like you were right there with the pinstriping, who did it?

Thanks for all the interest. Here are some more details & answers to the questions.
1.The picture was taken in the courtyard of the Univ. of PA museum. In those days, you could drive & park anywhere on campus.
Nothing was ever locked. Unlimited access to almost all bldgs 24/7.
2.The striping was done over several hours under a tree in Germantown by "Little Al" Cravero.I found him in HOT ROD mag.His '40 Fordillac pickup was on the cover with the most incredible paint job I'd ever seen--dragons,flames,etc.
3.The hubcaps were the hubcaps dujour,i.e.,'55 Olds spinners ($10 for the set, origin unknown).
4.The total bill from Bryner for all the bodywork & 5 coats of lacquer was $150.00
5.I had the car for 19 years before giving it to a cousin in art school who needed a car.
6.Car was stock except for a '55 Vette exhaust manifold & the loudest glasspacs in the neighborhood.

Don't worry,Rick. It's not "old timers" disease.
BTW,I later replaced them with Moon Disks. These were spun aluminum solid disks that
were originally developed for the Bonny salt flats.Car looked unbelievably cool.Unfortunately
I haven't found a pix of them.

paint job

Richy. EARL SHIEB would paint ANY CAR ANY COLOR FOR $19.95. This included overspray on the bumpers, chrome, windows and tires. It also included sanding, with sand scratches, no rust repair, holes were painted over! Fond memories! $150 was a deal.

You are right,Fran. The only thing you omitted were the mystery miles on the odometer, especially if you left your car over a weekend.
