Tom Forsyth with his 2014 Corvette

My dad had been in the automobile business most of his life and had an opportunity to purchase a small unprofitable Chevy dealership in 1966.

He did, with his son (me) in mind.

We worked hard, I learned a lot, fast, and on September 1st, 1970, GM made me, just 26 years old, the Chevrolet dealer in Zieglerville, Pennsylvania.
By then, Pop was having more fun on the golf course.

Unfortunately my first job as a new dealer was touching up rust spots on new Vegas before delivery.

In 1973 I got my first new (C3) Corvette!!

Hit and miss models followed annually-- Chevettes, the gorgeous downsized "77s, frenzy over the '78 Vette pace cars, Citations, Celebritys, APV
Dustbusters, the bathtub '90s Caprice and , maybe the biggest "miss", the SSR (I lost 6K selling one of those).

But overall we made money and always had close to or 100% CSI(customer satisfaction index).

So the years and new Vettes came and went and in 2005 I sold my store to Bergeys and retired with my silver C6.

By this time I was so hooked on Corvettes that I got an '07 in red and a white one in 2008.

After a few years the '08 started to look dated and I traded it, on a whim, for this way cool Cadillac I saw on Bergey's lot. R.I.P., my last Corvette so I thought.

Then, along came the C7!! Damn, GM hit a home run-- I had to have one. #2929 is in my garage, waiting for the snow to melt. And so, in conclusion, I guess it is appropriate for me to join a Corvette club.
