Question service column lock

day in Cape May for ocean city car show

ready to leave on Sunday car stared up fine

then got above message and column was lock keep playing with it after 2 hours it unlock

has anybody had this problem

This has happened to almost every C5 owner on the planet.
You probably also saw a message that said "PULL KEY...WAIT 10 SECONDS" or something like that.
It happens so frequently to C5's that you were not the only C5 on the boardwalk last Sunday that had this happen

You need the "Column Lock Bypass"

You buy it and I'd be glad to install it for you. I've done a few.

BTW: You may elect to take it to the dealer to fix. There was a recall in 2004 to fix this. They will remove the disc inside the column but it is not a guaranteed fix. I know of many that have locked AFTER the dealer did thier so called fix. The bypass is the only sure fire fix.
