Head lights not coming up

I have a 99 convertible and the battery went dead from sitting. I jumped started it and turned the lights on. The lights turn on but do not open, when i open them manually they will close like normal when turned off. After turning the switch a few times they would open hera and there but not all the time. I do not know if it is because the battery might still be low while it is running or if the cold has something to do with it or the battery being dead for probably a few weeks.

i do not have a clue as what to do next or what to replace, i am not very mechanically inclined. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you.

Does the car have twilight sentenal (auto on headlights). The first thing I would is disconnect the battery while charging to a full charge, make sure you have the radio security code if you have it set up that way. Once you know the battery is fully charged re connect it and give it a try. If it still doesn't work let us know what it's doing. I would not store a c5 for more than 2 weeks without having it on a battery maintainer. If you don't have electricity in the garage where you store the car remove the battery and bring in the house. C5's eat batteries and don't like low voltage.

Try looking up dead battery in this post on 3/12/11.My battery went dead and I had different problems and Glenn Murphy told me codes to fix them try that if you haven't fixed it yet. He also told me to get a battery tender and I did have not drained my battery since. It was great advice.
