Hi everyone. I signed the club up for the Oreland parade. Wednesday July 4th at 10:00 am. Be at the staging area at 9:30 am and the ACME at 9:00 am. not sure if I can make it.

Oreland, Pa. near Willow Grove puts on a 4th of July parade that is right out of the past. Kids and adults line the street with flag waving along the entire route. Our club has a tradition of being part of this parade. Itís great to see that everyone still loves a line of Corvettes. If you like a parade, don't miss this one and being in it is twice as nice.

TIP: For those of you that have never taken part in the parade many folks bring lots of candy to throw out to the children along the parade route. Some people also fix flags onto their Vettes.

WHEN: Wednesday July 4 2018

TIME: The parade starts at 10:00 am and ends 12:00 pm.

WHERE: CCDV participants will meet at 9:00 am in the ACME parking lot at 1825 Twinning Rd. and Rt. 152 (Limekiln Pike) in Dresher, PA

This is a great parade, draws a huge crowd. As the fire chief in Oreland I will be marching with the Fire Dept., but I would love to see you guys there. I will extend an invitation to all CCDV members to come back to the fire house when you are through the parade for an open house free hot dogs, soda and beer. We normally have a good crowd that goes through about 7 halves of beer in 2 1/2 hours. Once the end of the parade has passed the fire house we can park Corvettes along the road in front of the Fire Dept.

The Acme parking lot is at Twining Road and Limekiln Pike (152) From the intersection of 611 and 63 head west on 63 ( Welsh Road) about 2 1/2 miles, Twining Road comes in on the left side just past the Upper Dublin Shopping Center. If you cross the Turnpike you went too far. Turn left on Twining. After you cross Susquehanna (1st light) you will go down a long hill, the Acme will be on your right near the bottom of the hill.

Tony B.96LT4 is an unknown quantity at this point

The Club has been doing this for years so I would assume, although I shouldn't assume anything, that the meeting place will be the same as it's been in the past. If Ed can't make it, he isn't sure at this time, there are very capable people in the club that I'm sure will step up. At least CCDV will be in the parade, thanks to Ed.

Check out these threads for the meeting place at the Acme.

No matter how much candy you buy it won't be enough. Has anyone made it to the end with enough candy?

Never. Pattie and I had 22 lbs last year and at the final turn, I was picking up candy from the street that was missed to toss at the kids. Great day but this year, 25lbs.

The candy tossing is very strategic but we wouldn’t miss it
