Talking Ordered an 09 at Bryner

Stopped by Bryner today and placed an order for a 09. I heard that BG is closing down in May but saleman Dave Wyatt thinks the order may go through. He said he'll know in about 2-3 weeks. Got my fingers crossed!

Congratulations.

Hopefully you'll have it in time for the Cavalcade.

An FYI

Last Thursday, April 23, GM announced plans to reduce production effecting multiple assembly centers, nameplates and production weeks. Troy Clarke, GM NA President, stated, “We’re taking aggressive steps to accelerate our inventory initiatives that have worked well since the first of the year. While sales have been performing at or close to our plan estimates and dealer inventories have been reduced accordingly, we want to more closely align inventories with even more conservative market assumptions. By reducing our inventories even more aggressively we reduce pressure on GM and our dealers, and set ourselves up well for a clean 2010 model year start-up.”

In the actions announced yesterday, the assembly plant down weeks are staggered and vary in duration based on current inventory levels and expected demand for products. For planning purposes the table below summarizes yesterday’s and previously announced (July Summer Shutdown) actions by GM Assembly Center, corresponding brands, number of schedule down weeks, actual downtime weeks and any change in 2009 Model Year Build-Out and 2010 Model Year Start-Up dates. These scheduling actions attempt to avoid and / or minimize impact associated with the launching of new products like the Chevrolet Camaro & Equinox, Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac CTS Wagon & SRX and etc.

Please be advised of the following order related items:
• As these plans are incorporated into GM’s production system Target Production Weeks (TPW) could be inaccurate and / or fluctuate. Where possible GM will work to reflect accurate TPW’s as promptly as possible. For planning purposes the table below includes an “April Cons Prod. Timing” column to help identify the planned production month(s) for the April Consensus Cycle.
In most instances orders sufficient to support the remaining production prior to each plants down weeks have been received and are already scheduled. For this reason GM does not anticipate an ability to accept and / or prioritize current or incremental orders for production prior to the down weeks.

Select dealers who may require incremental inventory during this period are encouraged to utilize the GM locator and gminventory.com tagging web site or to contact your zone representative as a sufficient number of new and unused vehicles are available.

Should any changes occur to the table below dealers will be notified as soon as practical.

GM Assemblyy Center
Bowling Green

# Down Weeks = 9

Scheduled Downtime Weeks
5/4, 5/11, 6/1, 6/8, 6/29, 7/6, 7/13, 8/3, 8/10

Revised 2009 buildout date - 7/28

Revised 2010 startup date - 7/29

Congrats! If they can't build it, and you want an 08 with 1,300 miles let me know. I am not too proud to hijack the thread to hock my car!

Seriously, congrats and best of luck.

I hope you get yours, my two Escalade's are now set to be delivered in Sept due to the shut downs, they were suppose to be delivered in early May, and they are telling me they will still be sold as 2009's, it's a move GM is using to save money.

Waiting to find out if the order will go through is worse than pacing around in a "Delivery Waiting Room"

Out of curiosity, why order an 09 if you have an 08 already. Are you keeping the 08?

With this info from GM, I have a feeling your order will end up being for a 2010 and you'll see it sometime in August or September if not later. That of course is just my guess, things COULD be different at Bowling Green. The above info was for ALL GM assembly plants....

If I had to wait that long I'd order a 2010 GS or Z. Hope it works out for whatever is best for you. Either way, the wait will seem unbearable.

The 08 is a manual trans and I have some problems with my left leg that make driving the car a chore. I'm trading it in, ordered an A6.

I'm hoping that I don't have to wait until Sept. Brynerkid is working his magic to see if this order can be pushed. It's only been since Saturday and it seens like I've been waiting for a month.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Mike worked a little magic when I ordered my Z06 in Feb of 08. Bryner did NOT have an allocation for a Z06 at the time, but he made it happen....
We also made his calculator do some fancy dancing in my favor. It was a win win for me and him.
Mike's a good guy and I am sure he'll do all he can to make this happen for you.... Best of Luck.

Should it happen that you have to wait for a 2010, that wouldn't be such a misfortune. You'd then you have the nice option of looking into a GS model.. Look on the bright side.

Best of luck getting the car, but you may want to have Bryner do an inventory search for ya. There are TONS of cars out there and the odds that there's one built to the specs you would want are pretty darned good, plus you'll get a better deal from an inventory car. I can definitely understand wanting to order a car exactly the way you want it, but it's worth considering.

Best of luck and enjoy!

Order update

My order didn’t go through. Found what I wanted at MacMulkin in NH and BrynerKid secured the car yesterday. Today, MacMulkin started back-peddling and wanted the car purchased and titled through them. I told my salesman it’s through Bryner or no deal. BrynerKid made me a great offer on a 2010 so I’m going to wait.

It’s going to be a long summer!

There are thousands of Corvettes sitting on dealer lots and you can't find what you want? Must be an unusual combination.
