Sure. Here's the summary....

Its a 1938 Diamond T with a Hercules flat head 6 (65 HP, 160 ft-lbs of torque) coupled to a 4 Speed trans. It was purchased new by my father in law in 1938, and driven home from the factory in Chicago, IL. He built a stake body on the back and used it in his trucking business until he entered the service in WWII. When he returned, he modified the stake body and added a dump hoist, which is still on the truck today, so that he could haul coal and gravel. He also added a dump body tail gate with a small chute/door in the middle for unloading. It was used almost daily until 1972, at which point it was taken out of regular service. Always garage, the truck is an original survivor that still runs great with at 116,000 miles.

My wife and I are the second owners, and we plan to keep it in the family. I plan to rebuild the dump body and leave it basically as is, with perhaps a fresh coat of paint at some point in the future. For now we just enjoy taking it to cruise nights and shows, meeting all the great people who had a similar truck cross their paths somewhere in their life, plus those who just like to see an old truck from the 30s.

Thanks for the info. That's great you have the truck. What's really amazing is that you're the second owner.
