Philadelphia Veterans Day Parade

The Corvette Club Of Delaware Valley application has been approved to be in the Veterans parade on November 5th. I am looking for about 20 Corvettes to be in the parade. I talked to the Chairperson and I stated that there need to be changes this year as to how the Corvettes will be assembled in the parade and who will be in them. We will have more Gold Star Mothers and Veterans in our cars versus Politicians.

We will have a Police escort to 20th & JFK from Katie O'Donnells where our cars will be searched by K9 dogs and 'Homeland Security'. We will go down JFK Blvd to City hall to Market street and down to 5th & Market .My number is 267-253-7460 should you need to call me.

The parade starts at 12:00 pm and I would like to have the participants meet at Katie O'Donnells at 10:00 am. ABC will again have the parade on TV.

Please respond in this post if you want to be in the parade.

I'll be unable to attend this year. I'm over 3 hours away from center city. I enjoyed participating last year.

Veterans Parade

Ed, What time will the event end for us? I have an obligation at 4:00 that day. I would like to attend if I can make my obligation.

Roy,

The parade is over at 2:30 pm but the Corvettes are in the front. You can go home after you past the Master of Ceremonies stand and drop off your rider which should be around 1:00 pm.

Cool

This is looking very good. With 18 CCDV Corvettes this could be exactly 3 rows of 6 Vettes in each row. It would be great if we could somehow stagger new & old models PLUS separate colors so not all red, black, etc. are all grouped together.
Thanks Ed for arranging this again this year!
Proud to be an American and have served,
Joel

Watching the parade...what a wonderful day to celebrate our veterans.

Thanks to our members that helped make the 2nd Annual Philadelphia Veterans Day parade so beautiful.

We can never thank our veterans enough!

The police escort to center city was great & certainly helped! The parade at least for CCDV was better than last year but we did get separated again this year. I had a medal honored Vietnam Vet sit with me and he was very nice. He served around the same time I did although I never left the States. Altogether it was a great day for a parade & was good fun with other CCDV members. According to Sue, I was actually on TV for a few minutes so I'm selling my autograph to the highest bidder!?!
Thanks again to Ed for arranging this event.

Thanks everyone who participated. I appreciate you giving up your day to do this and you couldn't ask for a better day.

Everyone except Jim Neelans had a veteran in their car. Sorry Jim, not sure what went wrong there.

I was very proud to drive the Grand Marshall (Gene Richardson) a Tuskegee airmen who was a fighter pilot during the war. For 91 years old he was mentally sharp and fun to talk to

It was interesting how Homeland security scanned our cars with K9 dogs. I'm glad I left my Equalizer (Gun) at home.

Again Thanks everyone.
