Vettes for Vets & Airborne Day - August 15

The CORVETTE CLUB OF DELAWARE VALLEY proudly sponsors the 3rd annual ‘VETTES’ for 'VETS’ and ‘AIRBORNE’ day Hosted at Katie O’Donnell’s Restaurant & Irish Sports Pub 4501 Woodhaven Rd. Philadelphia, Pa. 19154 215-637-5151

The Corvette Club of Delaware Valley is the 2nd largest Corvette club in America and was started in December of 1958. During those years the club has donated over $400,000 to both national and local charities through charitable events. The purpose of this event is to collect personal items such as Razor Blades, Toiletries, Phone Cards, Writing materials, etc. for the troops overseas, The soldiers money is limited and if wounded are sent to hospitals that could be far away and their personal belongings could be left behind. By having people and their families donate an item would help lift the spirits of the troops and make their time spent less more doable.

• Over 75 Corvettes and many Muscle cars will be on display for everyone to see and enjoy
• Military Vehicles will also be on site with the opportunity to take pictures and sit in them
• Recruiting tables to join local military chapter such as the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions, Vietnam Veterans Association, Coast Guard Reserve, etc.
• Family Friendly – Children Welcome - Moon Bounce
• Anyone who donates an item would be entered in a drawing for Gift Cards for Katie O’Donnell’s
• No entry fee and dash plaques will be awarded
• WMGK 102.9 and Fox 29 will be on-site

Date: Saturday August 15th, rain date Sunday the 16th
Time: 10:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Contact: Ed Bonk – 267-253-7460

I will have a few military vehicles on site to see and have pictures taken. A Huey 1B helicopter, jeeps, a Stryker, a Hummer, personnel carrier, a C-45 Cargo plane fuselage for the kids to sit in the pilot seat. There will also be a Vietnam artifacts display (M60 machine gun, grenades, M16 rifle, claymore mine, etc) Flag raising ceremonies and guest introduction will be at 12:00 pm.

I am a combat veteran with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam and I fully understand what it means to get items sent to you overseas.

If you want to put your Corvette or Muscle car in the show, let me know through this post or e-mail me.

Thank you.
