Corvette Only Parking at Cavalcade

I thought that was a tradition of the show
( would have been nice to know there wasn't any in advance)

Question

To the best of my knowledge, non-member Corvettes were Corvettes ONLY and CCDV Club member Corvettes were also an area for Corvettes only. That hasn't changed as far as I know. Did you park in the Custom & Classic show area by mistake or in the General parking areas?

I am sure this was an oversight and will be addressed in the future. You are correct in that we always had a "Corvette Only" parking area.

I,m sure parking space was limited due to Raymour and Fannigan needing spaces for their customers. I heard their manager did come out to complain about our cars actually taking up spaces and asked us to move our cones accordingly. It's harder to accomadate everyone in a public area as oppossed to a private area. Overall we did pretty good to keep traffic moving and got everyone a decent spot to show their vehicle. Dan

I'm sure your opinion would be different Dan if you and your Vette were directed to a jammed public lot

Don't want to be nosey, but why wasn't your beautiful Corvette entered into the Cavalcade? Your Vette is a show piece and should have been on display!! At least that's my opinion.

Wink

Still sorry about your parking mishap but as Bob mentioned above, we'll surely discuss that at the post-Cavalcade committee meeting. Plus I can already see improvements for next year in my crystal ball.

To Dr pewter 72 my car was also not entered in this year's show so I did park my car in the general lot for most of the day. After the show I had to go right up to Lansdale to represent the Souderton Lions at the Lansdale car show. I also had to park my vette in a random lot as my car was not entered into that event also. It's not the best situation however, you do what needs to be done to enjoy the day. Dan

That's my point, hard to "enjoy the day" , maybe not for you but my Vette means a lot to me and I don't take it anywhere I have to leave it out of sight.

Don, I'll make sure we discuss this at the next board meeting. We shouldn't need more than 10/ 15 spaces, and a couple of signs "Corvette parking only". The row behind my car at the Cavalcade would have been perfect for visiting Corvette's.
