In addition to looking good. There is lowered risk of being rear ended. I think this is a significant improvement in safety.

That would probably be 3 more times than El drives at night per year

If you are near Ron's Corvette, you'll have a hard time staying front of it..

There really is a significant safety improvement with leds In addiition the bulbs burn out less frequently than standard bulbs lowering costs in the long run which is why fleet operators have been converting over to leds for the past several years.

The guy who runs our fleet tells me the price of the led bulbs have come down and continue to go down in price. He says they now cost in the neighborhood of twenty something dollars each.

The led bulbs use much less power than standard bulbs. They last many years. They are sealed and are not subject to same corrosion problems.

A while back ago I read an article in one of the fleet mags. I am not a techie but the jest was it is not just the brightness, the sealed lenses of the leds are crafted in a manor that focuses the beam. They do a much better job of cutting thur fog and mist hence lowering risk of being back ended.

We are in the gradual process of converting our fleet to led bulbs. I do not have them on my Vette, but I like that mod.

Talking Wave of the future

LED and OLED's (organic light-emitting diode technology)are the wave of the future. If you like to play the stock market with emerging companies check out PANL (Universal Display corp) They are in the forefront of developing these technologies for everyone and everyday use. From Lightbulbs to TV's and everything. Imagine almost never having a light or light source burn out, or lasting 5 - 10years worth and use less energy to produce the same amount of light. Very interesting stuff. P.S. I own a ton of shares in this company. My 2cents.

Safety turns into dollars when you run over 100, 50,000 to 80,000lb trucks every day covering approx 42,000 to 50,000 miles per day.

Every new Safety feature helps and many of the safety improvements over the years have proven to us to be safer and consequently cost effective...

A truck accident is expensive for many reasons above the obvious

El, as you would typically say "Trust me on this"
