C7 fuel door not opening> quick fix!

Saw this on corvetteforum, its something I'd like to pass on, as after 2 yrs of ownership, I didn't know about it but this issue seems to be popping up more frequently!

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...on-t-open.html

So apparently more than a few guys have been unable to open the fuel door when the car is unlocked. There's pin that goes thru a small hole activated by an actuator with lock/unlock of your doors or FOB. Even when hitting the unlock, the actuator doesn't always pull back and the door stays locked..

East fix, insert a nylon plug called a scrivet into the hole to prevent the locking pin from moving and locking the door..

Better to be safe than sorry!

Want to add, the door will still latch closed and push to open as normal.
The actuator is NOT on a solenoid, so no blown fuses or BCM errors if the pin doesn't go all the way forward....

Remember the C5 column lock? Same deal....

The problem here is GM did NOT install some type of manual release should the actuator fail and not retract the locking pin.... And this issue has been, and IS cropping up more frequently!
