85 No Power, Need help please!!!

Hello,

I know i'm completely crazy but I've got about $12,000 invested in this car in the last 14 months and I'm anxious to get her on the road.

Finally have my engine installed. Looks like everything is wired. I've installed the battery and expected to see power somewhere on the car, dome light , dash, door etc... Nothing ...ive got $%^# nothing.

Brand new optima battery from summit. Where should I start looking? I don't have the hood on, radiator fan or a/c compressor wired.

Is there a fusible link from battery to starter? Would the anti theft system prevent everything from working?

Need some help diagnosing before I send it to a auto electric specialist.

You need to do some basic electrical testing. The first thing you should have is a wiring diagram for your vehicle and a voltage testing tool.
Is the battery good and charged, what is the battery voltage? No guessing, must be tested.
You must have a volt meter to do these tests. What is the voltage at the main battery terminal at the starter solonid? Have you checked all the battery to frame and body grounds. If you do not know how to do any of the above then you need to take it to a shop that does. There are no shortcuts, just basic electrical tests of the main power circuits.

Thanks guys.

I wont have the time to dive into it today, but will certainly be chasing wires tomorrow.
I've got the volt amp meter ready to go. I was just curious about the ground wires. Received some info from Corvette Forum about where to look for ground wires and fusible link. Thanks 13th I also have the Service & Factory manuals for schematics etc...

Fixed the ground problem. Now the security alarm won't go off. Apparently there have been electrical problems with this care before I purchased it. There is a jumper on the fuse box from the radio to the LCD. I can start the car even though the alarm is sounding.

Any suggestions? I'm thinking about replacing the door locks.?
