Wings Field Vintage Air Car Show

Been busy the last two weeks, went to the Boston NCRS Regional (Top Flight). About the vintage air show, I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed my afternoon being parked next to govettego. It was great meeting you, and that car is sweat, it's magnetic the way the folks are drawn to it! Until next time. Kevin

Not sure of the owners name but it is a Steerman, circa 1943? It used to belong to an author that flew it all over the country,Mr. King, I've been told. It was being stored on a nearby farm so I was able to photograph my car with it. This is the plane that you could buy air rides at the air/car show.Cannibal Queen is it's name, and I certainly would like to go up in it! WB

It's a beautiful plane but it's not the one I got to fly. Emil's was based at Wings (probably still is). I used to work there and one day he invited me to take her up. It was the coolest thing ever to be in an open cockpit. For those who've never experienced it, do yourself a favor and try it whenever the opportunity presents itself. They usually offer rides for charitable contributions, so everyone wins. Aside from that, aircraft owners are usually some of the friendliest people you'll meet and give free rides regularly just to see people smile.

Years ago, a buddy introduced me to a woman and her young daughter at Doylestown Airport. He asked me to take the girl up for her first flight. Years later I received a forwarded email from the woman with a picture of her daughter at a NASA training facility. She had started training to be an astronaut! After the initial reaction of feeling old, it dawned on me that she must have enjoyed her first flight a little bit.
