Hello, again, to all of you looking forward to our Finger Lakes trip:

During our tour of the Corning Glass Museum we will be treated to a live demonstration of glass blowing. Following this tour, you can choose to make a glass project of your own through fusing, framemaking, glassforming, glassblowing and other techniques in order to produce items such as beads, pendants, clocks, or ornaments. You must make your own reservation in order to participate in this activity and you must do that now. You may choose a time on Friday, May 19 after 3:00 or Saturday, May 20 no later than 2:00.

Projects range in price from $20 to $30. You may choose from the Main Workshop or Hot Shop B. To view the project choices and make your reservation, see the following directions:
1. Go to Corning Museum Glass web site – https://www.cmog.org. Look at the top right of the page and click on “LOGIN.” You will register there and create a new account.
2. On the page that appears, click on the picture of an ornament that says, “Make you own glass.” Read the instructions, view the project choices, then click on the red box that says, ”Buy tickets.”
3. Move the calendar to MAY and select either May 19 or May 20. After selecting your date, pictures of the projects offered will appear. Check the box next to your choice. Go to the bottom of the page and select “Next.”
4. Choose from the available times. The chart will tell you how many tickets are available for that time and workshop. Under the dollar amount write in how many tickets you want.
5. There will be 6 steps to completion. When you get to the page to enter your credit card, do not click on “Buy admission tickets.” We are getting discount group admission tickets for Rockefeller and Corning.

Sorry to say, but Dan & Carol will not be going on this trip. We have cancelled our reservations at the Hampton Inn.

FYI only - Google Maps link to PA Turnpike Allentown Service Plaza (should work on your smartphone GPS if you have GMaps installed):
https://www.google.com/maps/place/Al...!4d-75.5585798

Alternately, latitude-longitude coordinates that you could type into most any GPS (at least one of the following formats should work, they're all the same, different GPSs like the format in different ways):
40.573390, -75.557977
40.573390N, 75.557977W
N40.573390N, W75.557977
40°34'24.2"N 75°33'28.7"W

GMaps is showing this as a 80-minute ride tomorrow leaving Jenkintown at 7:30am.

See you tomorrow!

Make sure you are going Northbound to the plaza. You must come from Quakertown or below to get to the northbound plaza parking lot. If you come from Allentown or north you will be in the southbound parking lot and have to go to Quakertown to turn around and go Northbound.

A BIG THANK YOU goes out to both Bob and Lorna Bearn for putting this fantastic trip together. The weather was perfect and getting to put the corvette on the track for 3 laps was terrific!

Big deal or is it? This is the kind of stuff that causes me not to rejoin.

We would like to second that "Thank you" to Bob and Lorna for all their hard work in setting up this trip. The people who don't join in on any of these trips have no idea what goes into the planning and organizing this takes. We always have a Great time. Your loss for not joining in!
