I am sure Radials would handle better. Not sure about wander. Is the front end tight and Right?

Take a look at Diamond Back tires. https://www.dbtires.com/

I have them on my 60 and they work very well. Drives straight and no wander.

These solid axle cars will wander if the front end parts are worn - tie rod ends, king pins, upper / lower cross shafts, drag link, etc.... Best to have the entire front end checked out and aligned when you put new tires on. Worn steering box can also introduce a wandering feel.
