ocean city car show

congrats to the club for winning most members present and to all the individual winners of the day. Had a fun time during the show. Had some bad news when it was time to leave. Had to haul my car home on the flatbed due to the steering column lock alarm. Different kind of perspective hauling the car up the AC Expressway instead of driving it home.

Wish I had known. Could have bailed you out.
Have the bypass installed. Installing the bypass is simple to do yourself.
The dealer fix is not a guaranteed fix, the bypass IS.

If you need and/or want more info let me know.

Thanks Glenn, the original owner had taken the car in for a recall that GM sent out and I had it in to the dealer last year and the locking device was supposed to have been taken out after they had problems with a replacement part. So I'm not sure why this went off yesterday after the show? No early warning syptoms presented itself at all. I'll let you know what I find out.

What a beautiful day for the Boardwalk Corvette Show yesterday in Ocean City NJ! Many congratulations to Pattie L, Don L. and Dave B. as well as Greg and Janice for their special awards. And many thanks to all CCDV members who showed their cars to receive the Best Participation Award. Dan, sorry you had a problem with your car. A few years ago we had to be towed from the AC Expressway. Nothing like sitting next to a stinky tow truck driver with no teeth for 96 miles and not getting home until midnight. Oh what fun we have with our cars!

The tow truck driver was ok. I was just glad he didn't come with a slobbering Blood Hound named Cletis riding on my lap all the way home. I should have sat in my car on the back of the flatbed to enjoy the ride home better.

Congrats as well to Greg & Janice Baugher for their trophy on the Boardwak.

Were you in and out of your car all day, low voltage will bring on the column lock problem. As Glenn said get the bypass and you won't have to worry about it. The $50's for the bypass is cheaper than a tow.

I wasn't in or out of the car at all. I will look into ordering that bypass . Thank's for the good idea.

The bypass is not just a good idea, it IS the solution to this problem.
