Tune at Injection Connection
Well I finally got the '06 tuned after the header install. I never got a dyno number on the stock motor so I don't know how much I gained if any with the CIA and Headers. 1st run (baseline) was 385 HP with 372 ft.-lbs. of torque. After tune I'm at 398 HP and 398 ft.-lbs. The tranny tune also tightened up the shifts so it doesn't take forever to shift through the gears. I'll be running at Etown on June 5th so I;ll have more info then.
Thanks to Dale and Joel at Injection Connection.

Nice numbers Tony. Someday I'd like to get the ZZ4 dyno'd AND maybe I'll show up for the next E-Town run on 6/5.

Very nice numbers, my '06 is pretty close to that as well with the same mods. Base LS2's are usually around 340 at the wheels so you gained nearly 60hp with the mods. I like the changes as they produce a very nice street car with torque to spare. I have found the tune in particular (thought not from IC) really smoothed out the power delivery, well worth the money spent.
Enjoy! |

Tony, sorry I didn't get back to you earlier. Those numbers look incredible. I can't find my dyno sheet but I don't recall my numbers being that high. I think you're going to be real happy with the results. How are the shift points, did they get them where you want them?

The good numbers I got might be because the engine is broken in at 35K miles as opposed to a newer engine. I didn't have time or the space to hammer the gears but part throttle shifts are firmer but not harsh. WOT shifts will have to wait till I get some nicer weather.

Sounds like a nice change.
Along with the HP gains the tighter shifts will make the car feel like even more torque than the reported 398...It will be interesting to see your track numbers. I see 11.8's coming...!!!

I wasn't talking about WOT shifts. Those will be fine by just making them hit harder and faster which all tuners will do just to make it feel like even more power. I'm talking about the partial throttle. Did they change any of the shift points to make it hold gears longer and downshift sooner? Those adjustments will make a world of difference just driving around the block. There are no perfect settings because everyone likes something different.
The most important part of my tune to me is making it downshift sooner. I hated having to push the throttle to 75% inducing a multi-gear downshift (6th to 2nd is not uncommon). I like being able to squeeze the throttle and controlling how many gears is drops by how far I push. I assume GM programmed it the way it did to avoid the gas guzzler tax, because it's farrrrrrr from being an agile performer at part throttle.

I didn't have any shift points changed but they did firm up the part throttle shifts a little.
