1st Camaro recall

I just saw this posted on line.

CUSTOMERS ARE TOLD NOT TO DRIVE THEIR CARS……

Answers to questions I’m sure you have are below provided by General Motors.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
General Motors has decided that a defect that relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2010 model year Chevrolet Camaro vehicles equipped with a V8 engine. As a result, GM is conducting a safety recall. We apologize for this inconvenience. However, we are concerned about your safety and continued satisfaction with our products.
Your vehicle is involved in safety recall 09121.
• Schedule an appointment with your GM dealer.
• This service will be performed for you at no charge.
Why is your vehicle being recalled?
Your vehicle may have a condition in which the positive battery cable may contact the starter motor housing and cause wear on the cable insulation. If the insulation wears through to the cable, it could create a short. A short could result in a no start condition, cause the vehicle to stall without the ability to restart, or result in an engine compartment fire.
Does not surprise me in the least. Now watch those dealership service centers fill up. I can't imagine what this will cost GM in recall repairs.
This has to be a new recall record. The cars just hit the showrooms two weeks ago.
Looks like the first 1300 produced are involved. The fix is basically using a special heavy duty tape on some wires to give them extra shielding. I think this was a totally precautionary action and there have been no incidents reported that I have heard of.
Well at the least the recall didn't beat the cars to the dealers.
Not much of an issue since 99% of these cars have yet to leave their respective dealers...
Remember when Saturn 1st started and they actually took back alot of cars because of issues,,they didn't want to start a new company with bad publicity,,,btw this is kinda funny,,"CUSTOMERS ARE TOLD NOT TO DRIVE THEIR CARS",,hey don't 4 get to schedule an appointment to bring the car in. I know..they meant something different.
It's a battery cable on the SS models that is suseptible to chafing. Hardly a reason to not drive the car...
