Is your car a stick or auto? If it's a stick it will be a Dana 44. Automatic a Dana 36. The rear cover of the Dana 44 looks like this. The Dana 36 has 8 bolts holding the carrier support(Bat Wing) while the Dana 44 has only 7. The Dana 44 is the stronger of the two. Of the five holes on the bottom of the rear cover only three attach it to the rear. The other two are for suspension parts.

im wanting to put a dana 44 in my 69 camaro and i need to know what im looking forwhen i come across one and thanks for your help
