On Saturday our CCDV racers will participate in the Corvette Challenge, and Club Challenge Cup. I'd like to see some CCDV members in the stands. If the hour of departure is a bit early and that's what is holding some of you back from going, I could lead a later group apx. 9 AM. It's only $10.'s for spectators and this Saturday the Vette Dr. Quick 16 will be running also. Some of these cars are 10 sec. and sub 10 sec. Vettes. Come out and cheer on our CCDV racers. You can bring your own food or drinks (non alcoholic) . The track has food and drinks also. Bring a towel just in case the stands are wet or a grandstand foam seat.

If a large number of people sign up for a later departure I will lead this group. If i don't get enough later people, I will go early with the racers. Bill

For those who wish to leave with the racers (20 cars)...

We will leave Bennigans (north of Willow Grove TP exit) at 7:40am. As you know we have some competition this year from another club so every racers staging points are important, if we want to retain the "Cup"! If any first time racers are coming you don't have to sign up for points if you don't want to but it would help the Club and insure your name be placed on the Trophy. Also anyone wanting to cheer us on are welcome. See you guys on Sat.! Tony B.

Bill weather permitting I'll see you there. I'll probably hook up with Joel and Glenn at the PA/NJ Trnpk junction. Don

Same thing! Providing it's clear & the forcast looks decent, I'll be there with Glenn & Don - a little before 8 OK?

I hear ya Tony. I'll be at the Indy 500 that weekend. I can't believe there is this much time between the two events. Everyone struggled with the weather the 1st two and now this big break.

Darn.

...and if I am reading the schedule correctly, the next one after the late May date is the Cavalcade weekend. S#!t

Tony, didn't you & Al do that job within the last 2 years? How many miles are on the clutch? Is the line lock the culprit?

Richy, Yep, did it about 4000 miles ago. Guess those 4500 rpm launches while slipping the clutch did it in early. My flywheel was right on the edge of being bad when we did it and I was cheap and didn't want to spend the money then. I'm going back with all GM parts again as I haven't seen anything other than the fact of the price of those pieces being higher than the aftermarket. At least the GM parts will fit and will bolt right in! I've also seen where the stock parts are good for up to 400hp, now I'm no where near that so I should be fine.:D

didn't want two in a row so next week was out
then swap meet
then mitsubishit day
then NHRA Nitto
then bike day
then Mopar day
then Fun Ford
then back to real cars (Vettes)

We share the track buddy and that is just who it worked out with either whole weekend or whole day events.

I think people forget Edgar that the Track has things going on, constantly.;yn Of course, we can go down anytime and run, regardless if it's a challange day or not. Plus the weather's always a factor and I know in my case at least, because of prior commitments ,I won't be able to make it until the July 10th. Which really stinks! But, that's just the way things shake out some times. ;tt

By the way Richy, the line lock doesn't affect the clutch. Even smoking the tires in second shouldn't hurt it either. That's why you go thru the water to get them to slip before your clutch does. However, 4500 launches at 2000 + rpm will, much to my chagrin.. :( too.

I'm well aware that tracks have many other events going on. Just a simple question why the scheduling was set so far apart was all I was asking. Wondering if there was a reason why it was 8 weeks between events? Seems like an awfully long time.

Mike,I was thinking that perhaps the line lock was not
working correctly & that some pressure was still being applied to the rear brakes???

The line lock is only plumbed into the front brake lines. The 315's also added some stress but it'll be alright soon. :D
