The one thing I do notice is that the factory headlamps do not seem bright enough. Has anyone replaced factory lamps with either of the above options? There seem to be many choices and price ranges. I do plan the PIAA replacement for the driving lights.

Ken I have the PIAA 1100's and they're a big help. I also have Sylvania SilverStar bulbs which are whiter, not brighter and help also. Yo El has HID and they're great. It's very easy to out drive my headlights at my age... my night vision isn't what it use to be... :( or is it that my car is faster at night  I was thinking about HID's but I don't use the car as an every day driver, more of a sunny day car, and $1,200.s' is more than I wish to spend for ocasional use. :)

I have had HID's in the stock headlights and in the Euro headlights, and I had the Euro headlights with different PIAA bulbs 80/80, 90/135, 100/150, watt bulbs. The best I found is the Euro headlights with the PIAA 80/80 Super Plasma White bulbs (hard to find) this offered the best light output with the whitest light

I had the Euro's w/ HID's and did not like them at ALL.

I just switched back to the stock lenses with HID's & relay for high & lows to be on at the same time.

This to me is the best set up.

Even if you don't get the hi/low relay, the stock lenses w/ HID's, are BRIGHT & WHITE!

Had em aligned up at Bryner with the laser Hopi machine.. AWESOME!!!!!

I seem to remember seeing a photo of your Vet with the headlights somewhere on the message boards and it looked real sharp. Can you tell me where you purchased the HID setup? Thanks for responding, I love what you've done to your C5!!

I know Ellis got his first HID setup from LAPD, and you really can adjust your headlights without a machine, well most people anyway. :p :p

Yep, call Shawn at ... www.thelapd.com

Get the HID's for stock lenses...;yn

Carl, the Hopi machine uses a laser beam on the nose of the car & on the rearview mirror to align, then another laser as the lights shine into a box & show you where to adjust, up/down, left/right, each light. Also shows measured candle light strength of each light beam..

The Hopi machine is AWESOME!!!!

I know what the machine does, and for daytime adjustment it works good, I use the old night time adjustment, that also works good, and costs much less. ;)
