I just wanted to thank you guys, especially Bill!, for helping out with all of the advice for selecting a new exhaust system for my 98.

In the end, I went with the GHL c5/z06 system (3.5 inch rolled tips) and as advertised it looks and sounds GREAT! At idle it rumbles a little more than stock, but not much, but when you open the throttle you know it's a Chevy V8! It's also not obnoxiously loud, it's just about right!

I had it installed at Bryner Chevrolet and at least two of the guys there came out to tell me not only how great it sounds, but how awesome it looks/fits, and that they'd be recommending that exhaust system if anyone asks. My thanks to all again for helping out! I couldn't be happier with the exhausts!

My only quick question is that I noticed that one set of tips sits a little lower than the other set. The pair of exhaust tips on the left sits about .5" to 1" lower than the tips on the right. I'm pretty sure that was the situation on the stock exhausts too, and I'm not terribly concerned about it since both sets of pipes are mounted solidly and aren't wiggling or just hanging, but I'm wondering if this is common and how hard/expensive it is to correct. Like I said, I'm not terribly concerned about it since the car runs/sounds/looks great and doesn't have any problems, but if it's a quick/cheap/easy fix then I'm all for making it cosmetically perfect as well.

Thanks again!

Sometimes the pipes "settle"... I would wait a few days then call Steve and ask if you can stop by to make sure the bolts are tight and the pipes are re-aligned. I'm glad you're enjoying your exhaust. I know that after I had mine installed it made the car much more fun to drive. See you soon...Bill

How much did they charge you for labor at Bryner. I'm getting ready to do the same job but I might just do it myself.

I'm not sure how much Bryner charges but I paid $80.'s at Berrell Auto in Abington. If you are going to do it yourself, it's going to require the car to be at a minium hight of 30 inches high in the rear to remove the stock one piece exhaust. If you cut the stock exhaust you don't have to raise the car as much.

Thanks, Berrell is right around the corner from me and Dale has helped me a few times with my Z-28. I have access to a lift and I have the lifting pucks so I was thinking about doing it myself. I guess time will tell I still need to buy the exhuast system. I was also playing with the idea of just upgrading to the Z06 exhuast. However Ellis (YO-EL) told me about the GHL exhuast and it sounds very good.

I like the sound of El's exhaust. How did you make out with your e-brake problem?

If you have a lift that job will take you no more then a 1/2 hr. my son has done 5 or 6 sets. it is easy.
