View Full Version : Gonna start over...
My car has several coats of Zaino on it. I'd like to start over this year fresh...so
Do I just wash with Dawn, clay with a solution of Z-7 and water, wash with Dawn and rinse like I did when I started using Zaino?
(Since I have car on the lift, I get to see what I missed on the rocker panels)
Thanks
Pete
That's the way I understand it.

Pete, you can do it with Z-7 or if you can do it outside in the shade with a hose. You can mix one cap of Dawn to 16 oz. of water,... spray a small section 24" x 24" checking the clay bar often to make sure there are no rocks or tar in the clay.. Clay and rinse. repeat till the car is done. Then re-wash the car with dawn. I would use Z-5 with ZFX for the first 3 coats, then 2coats of Z-2 with ZFX and the final coat of Z-5 with ZFX. Carl will correct me if I'm wrong... :D

No need for the Dawn, it will NOT remove the Zaino. You can just clay the car to remove it.

I think you should also use Z6 quick detail between every coat of Z5 and Z2.
Thanks,
Yes I was kind of wondering if the Zaino would come off with Dawn only.
I've already gone thru my first kit of Z2, Z5,ZFX, Z6(2),Z7(2).
Now that I have my new set of materials I'd like to get started,
but I didn't want to Zaino in that crud on the rocker panels. Even if the average guy wouldn't see it, I'd know its there.
Bill...I have plenty of shade, but there's 4" of snow between me and the tree. :D :D
Thanks again guys...
Pete
Pete, Dawn will not remove Zaino, even if you wash it 10 times. Abrasives and alcohol will remove Zaino. If you applying more Zaino then just clay and apply more Zaino, if your not claying just wash with Zaino Car Wash and apply Zaino. If your applying another product then use a product like 3M Scratch and Swirl Remover or a Body Scrub to remove Zaino.
