I pulled of my wheels for cleaning and noticed that my front tires rubbed thru the fiberglass. I either was driving more aggressive at VIR last summer or something changed on my car because it didn’t rub when I was at NJMP the year before. Anyone know how big of a deal this is to repair?

I'd probably repair that with a can of flat black spray paint and be done with it...

Could have happened on some of the more agressive right turns at VIR.
ie: top of the Roller Coaster, Hogpen, Turn 1, Entering OR Exiting the Oak Tree.

I'd blame Anydy Pilgrim for that... I think I saw him do it.....

A little 2 part filler, a little sanding and some black/charcoal paint and you'll be good as new.

Can you expand on that?

Can you expand on that?

Fiberglass resin 2 part body filler. Mixes like 2 part epoxy but is stronger due to the glass fibers. It hardens in a short time and can be sanded to any level or roughness you like. You'll need to find a spray paint that approximates the finish of your wheel liner and a couple of soft coats and you should be good to to.

Are you really going to go to all that trouble to fix the inner wheel well liner? ONLY to wear it right off again. Have you remidied the obvious tire size problem so this won't happen again? No one (obviously) will ever see this blemish unless they remove your wheel.
