I'm posting this in the C6 forum as thats what I drive.(2008) Anyway I received the CTEK 3300 today and was wondering if anyone keeps the "battery cable with eyelet terminals" permanently attached so you can just do a quick dis-connect, or do you just use the cable with the battery clips. If you use the eyelets where did you attach the "negative" eyelet. The cable isn't all that long.

After posting this I searched the national forum on installation. Some members have stated that they connected the neg and pos eyelets directly to the battery,,is this a good idea?

I do the permanent connect with a Battery Tender so I can do the quick connect/disconnect. I do this on two my cars. M akes things easy and there is nothing to worry about doing this (if that's why you're asking)

Just be sure to keep the cap on the connector when not in use.

I have 3 battery tenders, one over each parking spot in my garages. I have hard wired all 4 cars. I also added extensions so that each car has the line permanently attached in the grille or right under the bumper. It's just habit that any car that will sit longer than a week gets hooked up to a tender.

The way I wired my Corvette I can have the car cover on and still have the tender connected as the wire is attached under the bumper. On of my battery temders is almost 10 years old and still going strong.

Well just my luck,,when I plugged it in, the power only stays on for about 2-3 seconds then goes off,,it happens if its hooked up to the car or just pugged in without being hooked up. Have to wait til tomm to find out how to return. I still want another thou.

Just buy the tested and true Battery Tender (http://batterytender.com/automotive/battery-tender-plus-12v-at-1-25a.html) and be done with it.

I have multiple CTEKs and have never had trouble with them. I have also had a Battery Tender that was very reliable as well, can't go wrong either way. I got my CTEKs from Southern too, Jim is a good guy to do business with and will take care of you.

Just installed the new one,,,they actually sent the new one out before I had a chance to send back the defective one. Seems like a good place to do business with.

Glad to hear your new one is working. I have bought many items from Southern Car Parts and they always have top notch service. Bought 2 of their "Seat Armour" covers for my vette and after a couple of washes the colors started running. Sent Jim and email asking if this was normal and he shipped two new ones that next day with no questions. This was 6 months after I purchased the first set. I will continue to use SCP. They also run Southern Mustang Parts and I used to buy Mustang stuff from them before I sold the Mustang.;bt
