My neighbor would like to install an oil cooler on his 2004 Z06 (engine modified). Any recommendations?

The best thing to keep temps (oil and coolant) under control is a Devitts radiator/oil cooler combo. It's a direct fit with the stock mount and increases cooling capacity a ton. Attached is a link to their site.

That is the exact same one I put in mine last winter. Last year my oil temp hit 308 at the New Jersey Motor Park. This year on a twenty degree hotter day at VIR <100 degrees in the pit area> and the hottest I ran was 276. Some of the stock Z06s were running hotter than that.
On normal driving oil temp runs in the 190s.
This is what I bought.

I installed the radiator and fan kit myself in not much more than an hour. The oil cooler adapter kit was another story.....Thus the only thing I would stongly consider is that you don't buy their engine oil cooler adapter kit.

The alternator, headers and some other stuff had to be removed for the installation plus loosening the motor mounts and jacking up the engine for that kit to fit. I didn't have the time or the patience for the aggravation and ended up taking it to Pheonix and spending about 800 bucks to have it installed.
If I was doing it all over again I would just purchase an adapter and have stainless steel lines installed.
