Hello to my new friends at CCDV,

Thank you for inviting me and my husband Al to join your club. Several
months ago I became the very proud owner of my 1st Corvette, a 1989,
black, hard-top convertible, also known as "BABY".

You may want to know how I came about owning this one of the true
JOYS of my life (besides my husband Al., 2 married children, 4 grandchildren
and 1 on the way) at the wonderful (ugh !!) age of 65 years. So here it
goes ....

A couple of months ago before my 65th birthday I decided I wanted to get
something special for this birthday. My husband asked me what I wanted
and I told him a Lazy-Boy recliner or a Corvette (ha!), of course joking
about the latter. And so, I finally went out to purchase this recliner
and realized I really didn't like the one I thought I wanted for a
couple of years. So now, "Jean, what do you want for your birthday?" he
asked. It came right out of my mouth that I wanted a Classic Corvette.
Of course he thought I was kidding and to my surprise I really wasn't.
I then started checking the newspaper and Internet and went out and saw
a few cars mainly to see if I would even be comfortable sitting in one.
That's it ...I WAS IN LOVE !!!

"BABY" was purchased in Manahawkin, New Jersey on the mainland just
outside of Long Beach Island. We could tell that the owner loved this
car as much as I did. When he lifted his garage door to show us the
car, my mouth just dropped open. There was no hiding my delight. The
car was really, really clean, so much so that you would have thought it
was new.

That, my friends was the beginning of my love for this car.

Yours truly,

Jean,

Welcome to CCDV and congrats on the purchase of "BabY". I look forward to seeing her in person. I'm just down the road of you in Huntingdon Valley. If you need help with anything at all please let me know. I'm usually detailing one of our fleet every weekend (and usually more often than that) so feel free to bring "Baby" by for a bath sometime.

Best regards
Mark
