War Bonnet

Thought that I would share my latest find after reading Don's barn find post. I got a tip on the car while running our (DelVal) road tour on a Sunday. Within 24 hours I became the proud owner of an all original 72 LT1 with air conditioning. It is a one owner original paint 49,000 mile War Bonnet Yellow (yep that make two WB,s) found nearby in Hatfield. The previous owner pasted away and his widow held on to the car for some seven years finally felt it was time to sell. The car was stored for many years in a retirement home garage. Just by the look of it I can tell it was maintained by an old school mechanic, regularly checked on but nothing changed. I have been checking the numbers everything is there and original, alt., carb, hoses, interior, paint, trans, rear diff., etc. The tires were changed to radials and the air filter was replaced along with the oil filter that's it.
I already have the car registered for NCRS Bowtie judging in Kissimmee this January.
This is the best luck I have ever had!

Kevin,
Congrats on the new toy. 72 LT-1 with A/C is a rare find. Only year for AC with the LT-1. And..... in your favorite color.

When I bought my 72 rag top Contes had a silver 72 LT-1 air car but I was looking for a roadster so I ruled it out.

I will probably drive this one more then the BB too! It is a non power steering car, that adds to the fun!
Many congrats on your good fortune!! ;bt Plus, to find one in WB yellow....unbelievable!!
Not complaining, but I would have preferred a different color, I guess I choose a good screen name.
Congrats Kevin! Looks like you & Don L. BOTH got fantastic holiday presents this year!!
Your not kidding, it's the best gift I have ever received! Having the money and the luck finding something like this just doesn't happen to me. Hum, maybe it's because of the guy's wallet I found and returned in Carlisle this year? (Which had a couple grand in it). Carlisle, Corvettes I don't know it kinda weird???LOL
Thank you,
Kevin
