First Happy thanksgiving to all!! I found this very cool web site the other day, for us older members and maybe younger too. A walk down memory lane http://www.amusementparknostalgia.com/wpoint.html

I used to go there with my family and friends when I was very young. The Wild Mouse would scare the crap out of me. Now I live right up the street from there.
Also visited Six Gun Territory a lot. It's hard to believe there was an amusement park like that where the WG Mall now sits. I guess it just seemed larger when I was a kid. Have great memories of throwing up in my friends car after his brother dared me onto some demented ride right before leaving.

Wow does that bring back memories....;ae
Anyone have any old photos of WPP?
An additional thrill in riding the Wild Mouse was that they were always welding some part
of the track between rides.UNIVAC(now UNISYS) held its annual picnic there until the park
closed(or was condemned).

There are some links throughout that page to some very interesting pages. ie: PA Turnpike history, Neshaminy Park, Willow Grove Park.. I spent many days as a kid at Willow Grove Park..... Some of the origional Carousel horses from the park hang in the Willow Grove Mall today...

He's so old he was around before the park was build. Amusement parks were just a dream when he was a kid.
And after they were built he never got to ride them because he never grew above the 48 inch requirement to get on the ride.
But they did offer him a job as the 'Richy Toss' amusement where everyone paid to toss him off the walls.
Richy - Pay backs are a B......

I grew up not far from WG park & I remember one summer when my mom said she heard a Lion roaring. My dad told her she was dreaming. Sure enough, the next day the Daily Intell had an article about the Lions & animals at the park. Actually, we stayed away from there on the weekends.
Dear ED,thank you for that brief & inciteful summary of my early life. You managed to hit all the major highlights.Your eloquent use of language once again demonstrates that with you as pres,CCDV is a premier club.

My parents used to tell me about them going to Willow Grove Park. I wish I had the opportunity to go before it was closed. I was only ever on those grounds as a Mall. Would be nice to live so close to a major amusement park!

Before my Dad enlisted in the Navy he was a brake man on the Alps ride. They didn't have the computers to slow down the ride just one guy pulling on the brake handle.;ae
