Just wanted to alert you all to the newest email virus. There have been virus definition updates every day for the last 4 days as the scanner people try to keep up with the new outbreak of worm virii. The MyDoom Worm is also know as W32.Novarg.A@mm.
They still don't know a whole lot about this one but I'll tell you what they do know.
The virus is emailed to you with a random subject. It might be one of the following subjects or something like it.

It has an attachment with a random extension. Probably .bat, .cmd, .exe, .pif, .scr, .zip, .htm, .txt, .doc
The virus doesn't do anything to your computer that you would notice, so you might be infected and not know it. It silently makes your computer venerable to outside attacks. Someone could gain access to your computer and read your files. It then scans files on your computer searching for email addresses and send itself to those addresses, It doesn't use your email program, address book, or your email address. It has it's own email program built-in and randomly uses one of the email addresses it found on your computer as the from email.
If you use a file sharing program like kazaa, it will spread itself through that too.
On Feb 1st the worm is supposed to attack a website and stop on Feb 12th. The worm will stop spreading that day, but if you were already infected you computer will be left open to intruders. They can get at your files, transfer file to and from your computer, run programs on your computer, and gain similar access to any other computers on your network.
I have been getting the worm for days delivered to the WebGuy@ccdv.com address and it appears that some of you have gotten it from the WebGuy@CCDV.com address. Luckily, I'm not infected, but I wanted to let you all know that some of you are.
Symantec has made a very nice removal tool

You should be able to clean your computer without damaging anything.
