Just got done shovelling the walks and driveway, came in for more coffee and Yen wanted to go out and play in the white stuff  That Big lug really LOVES this stuff. I had to literally drag him in, and thats no easy feat.
It had stopped at 3am. Now it's FREAKIN SNOWING AGAIN
It didn't used to bother me years ago to go out and shovel this stuff. But now I am starting to sway to Arleens way of thinking. We should move to Arizona.
Seriously thinking about saying GOOD BYE to the East Coast.
I could drive the Vettes year round. :D

Hey Rick, Arizona's great!! Except in May, June, July August & September when it's so hot you'll be trapped inside next to your AC every day.;yn Now every day Nancy says, "I wanna move to Florida!!" I'd love to also, but, I know as soon as the humidity hit her and a bug the size of Yen scampered by she'd change her mind! ;yn I don't think there's many places in this country yhat really has perfect weather all year, with the exception on maybe San Diego. It's warm, and has low humidity and great roads where you can drive all year. No snow, hardly any rain (it's a desert) and an ocean nearby. :D:D Sounds great doesn't it? Yep, as Aaarnold says, "Calyfornya"...;bt

I hear you Rick. I lived in Austin Texas for about 10 years, right about now I'd be bitching because the temp would be in the 50s and I would need a windbreaker to keep warm while I'm on my boat. However come July/August I would be amazed every day as to how all that heat can travel all that way thru ice cold space from the sun just to make me sweat like a Dog. The perfect solution is one word SNOWBIRD. Get yourself a 25 ft Winnebago with a car trailer (for your Vette). Right after Thanksgiving dinner load up and head south.Find a RV Park around Fort Lauderdale jack up the Winnie roll the Vette off the trailer and wait til Easter before you lower the Winnie off the jacks. It does'nt get any better than that, Right?

Just got back from Houston last night, 2:30am. Temps on Sat., Sun., were in the 70's. They were in the 60's Mon., and Tues., No snow, clear skys and low humidity. My Sis and Brother-in-law say that Summer is brutal and you better have the AC cranked up. Anyway, I just got done the driveway and the snow from half of my garage roof that ws in the morning sun slid off, guess I'll wait till the sun warms up the rest of the roof so I don't have to haul out the snow-blower twice. ;sm

yep, same thing here.... never minded the cold & snow etc., but I am FED up... my parents are in Florida for a month & my father is "scouting" S. Florida home developments & business potential for me. We may be 5 or 6 years late, but Donna is receptive to moving where I can work 9 months of the year with somewhat regular hrs. We will see.........

El, please hire me before the move... I'm a very dedicated employee. :D I'd also be glad to trade in the Jeep for a boat or plane.

YO-EL,

If you are serious about moving to Florida, take a good look at SW Florida, particularly the area between Naples and Sarasota. Since I am more familiar with Naples, I can tell you that builders cannot put up homes fast enough - the demand is so strong in that section of SW Fl. There are still some good buys in that area, let me know, maybe I can be of help to you.

I know when to say Uncle. Two weeks ago or was it 3 snowstorms ago, same thing, Im told my Wife that I was itching for a roadtrip to somewhere warm. This last snowstorm convinced me it's more of a necessity then an irch. If we can both get off work for week in Feb, I'm going to throw a coat of polish on the Vette filler up with Sunoco Ultra and point her to Miami Beach. Don

RICK! You know how we feel about this subject - the sooner we get away from here the better. The weather here is bad all year 'round. I lost count of how many events were cancelled last summer due to rain, and now this crappy weather just never ends. I heard on the news last night that PECO broke an all time record for energy demand due to the cold, and our heat bills will be at least 10% higher than ever next month because gas just went up. Southwest Florida here we come!

You guys must be gettin old. :D I love the snow. We love skiing, snowboarding and ridin the Quads in the snow. It's fun stuff. Of course I don't have to work in it, so I only have to be in it to have fun and only when we want to.

Packing my Corvette away for these kinda months only makes me appreciate it and enjoy it even more when it finally comes out in the Spring.

Just my 2 cents

What?... You think A/C is cheaper than heat? I can always put on more clothing to stay warm, but I can only remove so much to stay cool before the neighbors complain.

Ah, I still have a little respect for Philly living. No hurricanes, earthquakes, sand storms, tornados, locust swarms or killer bees to deal with. We have skiing in our back yard and the beach next door. Fine dining, theatre, parks, airports, race tracks, casinos...

As far as I'm concerned, we're lucky to be able to enjoy REAL changes of season. It's OK to like all the other places but this will always be home, so you may as well get used to it.

OMG!!!!
I must be getting OLD :( Ten years ago this weather didn't bother me at all. Yes, I do Love the change of seasons. I enjoy the outdoors. Just don't deal with this COLD very well anymore.
My son called and wanted me to go out on the Quads and race around yesterday, Asked him if he BUMPED his head
I can't wait for SPRING!!!!!!

I sure hope that this spring is better than last spring. It is hard to enjoy our prize possessions when it is always snowing or raining.

I can honestly say, I could probably live any where. The part of Florida we like is around Bradenton, which is south of Tampa, but north of Sarasota. Plus they have a track there too! That's where Edgar hydolocked his car. ;doa Now, if we have a nice spring and summer here, without rain every weekend, then it's really not so bad. Besides, if we didn't have some crappy weather, how could we appreciate the nice ones?? :D

PS; we also can get all worked up over all our sports teams as they choke with the regularity of Old Faithful. Where else could you have that? ;tt;tt

Hi Mike I've vacationed at Longboat Keys which is the area you were refering to, beautiful. It's nice to live in a warm climate but you also have to look at the big picture, cockroaches the size of poodles, snakes that will kill you, alligators waiting for you 6 inches below the water surface, fire ants that keep you off the grass, hairy tarantulas and scorpions camping out in your shoes overnight and of course the 100% humidity and the occaisional F4 hurricane. I have a friend that moved to Fla. on an impulse 2 years ago and he's still looking for a job that pays even half of what he was making in Jersey. But it is a great place to visit. ;bt

Don, I agree with you 100%. ;yn Now, I;ve been to Austin many times. I used to do alot of work for Motorola down there and I have a good friend that worked there & lived up in Red Rock or something like that. Now the weather could get cold, but, it never lasted more than a day or two. But, even there they get big hellasious storms and tornados. Nice place to visit. :D:D

I think the town your refdering to is Round Rock about 10 miles North of Austin. This is coincidentally where we lived. We loved it I had a boat at Lake Travis best lake I've ever seen 65 miles long and loaded with many canyons with waterfalls. As a matter of fact I had my boat in dry stack storage you would call them up 30 minutes ahead and they put your boat in the water, keys in it all gased up and ready to go. Used to baot 11 months a year. A good friend of mine got laid off from Motorola down there. He was a planner for Motorola supplying GM electronics. He had a good job but after 30 years he is working at Walmart now. I'm originally from this area but was enjoying Texas. A company from Boston offered me a job I could'nt refuse so I came back. I think of that decision a lot as I'm walking behind my SNOWBLOWER. ;ac

The things I liked the most in Austin were: 1.) the great food, whether barbecue, Tex-Mex or steaks, it was nice; 2.) the people were really friendly; 3.) unlike most places in Texas, there were hills and trees; 4.) it's a college town and I love college towns, ie State College, Georgetown, Charlottesville, Tucson and Austin; 5.) the weather was always nice when I was there, all times of the year..and finally....no "wintery mix"... :D :D :D

C'mon you cry babies.Suck it up & just enjoy(endure) this weather.Got in the Vette this morning, backed it quickly out of my
freshly plowed driveway so as to have enough momentum to get
over the ice filled gutter,& had a great ride to work.

By the way Don, I called my buddy yesterday. He lives in a little town called Rockne ( named after the Knute) which is 3 miles from Red Rock. That's about 30 miles Southeast of Austin, whereas Round Rock is about 20 miles north of Austin. He just got a job at Uof Texas in Austin.

There are a lot of things I miss about Texas too (former Austinite).
Oddly enough, when I lived there, I missed the change of season we have in the northeast.

Just when you're truly sick of the weather (and the layering and the coats) here comes spring! :)

Dudes! The snow rocks! Can't have good skiing without the fluffy stuff.

Sure it's bad for driving but think of it this way, thats all the bad weather we really have. We RARELY get any natural disasters here in PA. No earthquakes, tidal waves, hurricanes, tornados, or PETA.

I love it here in PA. Spring and Fall are awesome for driving. The scenery is second to none out in the country. Sure I'm young but I have been to alot of the other states and I like it here the bestest.
