Please do NOT post to old threads. This causes problems.... as we saw with the Carlisle thread. I have locked all the old threads that were posted today.
Thanks Bill

Why don't we just delete old threads related to events over a year old? Or, at least lock them and mark them LOCKED, OLD THREAD.

Deleting isn't the answer unless space or search speed is an issue, IMO. Some old threads have good information for those searching, like directions, instructions, hints, short cuts, experiences, reminders of all the times Ed messed up, etc.

But we should lock old activities, so confused people don't confuse others. If someone has a question regarding an old activity that's locked, it's simple, start a new thread asking about it. If you think something is worthy of being merged with an old thread, like better directions etc, just ask a mod to merge them, it's simple.

As a mod, it stinks having to choose whether to delete a post in an old thread or wasting time trying to find the "correct" place to merge something. In the end I do whatever helps the community the most. If it's info the rest of us might need, I'll keep searching, but if it was just somebody too lazy, or too confused, it has to get deleted for the benefit of others. And if I'm just not sure, it goes to the admins forum for others to help decide its fate.

I actually got info I didn't know about on washing car covers.
But as you know, some of us like Ed and myself could become SO CONFUSED over some of the older activities threads. (LOL)
You guys are doing a Good job as Moderators.
