Just doesn't look right, does it? I don't like it... That's a shame to dispose of that nice carbon fibre rollover hoop and roof.
Thanks for the pics though, they ARE interesting

Not bad looking but kind of defeats the purpose of a ZR1.

I agree with defeating the purpose. As far as "Not bad looking" I don't even think it looks good, but then again, I'm just not a convertible type person....
The convertible with chrome wheels just looks whimpy.
AND, bring the fastet Corvette ever made with the most amazing brakes ever to the race track and they'll tell you "Sorry, you'll need a roof or rollbar(s) if you want to enter the pit lane and track.... But of course, you can watch from those stands over there"

This is a case of "because you can" where money is no object but exclusivity is.
Did the owner take a C6 convertible and convert it to a ZR1 or have the roof taken off a ZR1 to make a convertible?
I'm easily confused.

Looks like a ZR1 with a roof chop. The other way around would probably cost more in the conversion.
"Vet donor car" has me confused.
The forum is still debating the issue.

Those guys just don't want to believe the obvious.
It's pretty simple (does not mean inexpensive) to chop the top off at ZR1 oppossed to all that would have to be done to take a convertible and make it look like that car does....
I can actually understand a guy wanting to do this. This is perfect for someone who wants a car that attracts alot of attention where ever it goes....
Many of the waxer types would be just as bewildered with the guy that takes a ZR1 and right out of the box just takes it to the Race Track and beats the crap out of it time and time again......
I'm more for the guy that wants to beat it up and drive it like it was meant to be, but to each his own...
That convertible certanly will stir up conversation and controversy every where it goes....

Well,
It's 3:12 am. I have looked at it over and over again since yesterday.
I don't like it. Maybe in Black with a nice set of Cray wheels!
Such a waste of two new Vettes.
I like that Blue F%rd Galaxie in the background!
What is the difference if the car goes to the track, or sits in someone garage, it's their car and everyone has a different use and need for their cars. The owner might think taking his ZR1 to the track is dumb or a waste of time, and others think that about taking their cars to a car show and sitting around all day. My ZR1 will probably never see the track, got it to drive the dirt roads of upstate NY, and race on the street. I am not a fan of yellow, although I have had two yellow Vette's, but I think the car looks pretty good. We have all seen worse if you go to Carlisle you can see worse, like the Gucci Corvette, what were they thinking

The guy who owns the car is the co-owner of Mascaro trash service. He is also the owner of a Ferrari, Carrera GT, and a host of other supercars. He bought two brand new vettes. A ZR1 and a convertible. He took it to a shop and had the convertible pieces put onto the ZR1. I think its pretty cool. Something I wouldn't do myself, but for him (a guy who has the money and resources), why not? If you were to see this car in person, you might change your opinion on it. I looks perfect. I commend the shop who did the work, because the conversion looks flawless.

I still don't understand why, regardless of how much money this individual may have...

I would have opted for the grey wheels, would look more sinister.
Wonder what color the top is...grey would look good with grey wheels
Actually the whole car would look better grey.

Lee, watch yourself. We're talking yellow here!!
Actually I really don't care for the car in yellow (and you never heard me say that). If I had the bucks to do what he did, it would be red or black.
Just my $.02.

I think you guys better start saying nice things about this car or the owner's going to send over someone from the "family" to talk to yous! JUST KIDDING
I really like it, just install ROPS under the rear deck!

25 years from now some guy is going to pull up to an NCRS event and argue that it's a one off factory built ZR1 rag top.
FYI, War Bonnet's right, say nice things or you might find yourself sleeping with the fishies

That's one rare car. Only 50 were built for retail sale. It's a Maserati MC12 built by Ferrari (since Ferrari owns Maserati) on an Enzo Chassis. WOW!
What crusie night was that?

Don
How large is that Harleysville Wallmart show getting? I drove by it on my home from the Phila airport last night about five and it appeared lots of cars were already there with many headed for it?

Mark: That's Harleysville Wal-Mart, 63 & 113 (2nd Staurday of every month)
** put on by the "Bux-Mont Street Machine Association" **
Norm: Pretty big, especially with good weather !
That was the last cruise of the year, today they had their annual judged show with probably over 200 cars !
