I just read the July 09 issue of Vette. And Ed corrected them on a statement made in a past issue. Apparently, They stated that the Bloomington Gold Corvette show is the longest running Corvette show in the USA. Well, Ed set them straight and let them know that the Cavalcade of Corvettes has been running for 39 years this year.
Nice letter Ed. ;bt

Thanks Doug.
We also got free advertising as the editor put our show flyer in the magazine next to my letter. For those who do not get Vette magazine below is my letter.
Dear Jay,
In your April issue you stated that Bloomington was the longest running Corvette show in America. That is not correct as the Corvette Club of Delaware Valley, headquartered in Willow Grove, Pa. is the longest. running. This June we will have our 39th annual Cavalcade of Corvette show in Jamison, Pa. at the Middle Bucks Institute of Technology. I included a flyer to support my statement. We have an average 130 to 150 Corvettes in the show each year.
The Corvette Club of Delaware Valley is the second largest ‘Local’ corvette club in the United States with a membership of 588 members. We celebrated our 50th anniversary last year which makes us one of the oldest Corvette clubs in the United States. We have an average 30 activities each year and contribute approximately $18,000 dollars a year to chartable organizations for a total of $350,000 in the last 30 years. This year we won the Eagle One Golden Eastern Region Award for outstanding community service in 2008.
I also sent an e-mail to Doug Burroghs who is the CEO of Bloomington Gold because their web site said they were the longest running Corvette show. Here is his response.
Thanks, Ed.
Congratulations on your show. That's an accomplishment. In fact, there are probably lots of local shows somewhere that may go back even further. Impossible to keep track, I suppose.
To be technically correct, we'll try to note the next time by referring to it as the longest running national Corvette event.
I'll have Patte send you two free passes to our show for bringing this to our attention.
Regards,
David Burroughs
As everyone knows I will do what I can to look out for the best interest of CCDV.
