View Full Version : REDGAR running......the break-in begins
Got a call today and my car now has an engine in it and is on the road accumulating break-in miles.
Thanks to Carmen, Dennis and Joe, The Vette Doctors, for getting my car rolling again for the next Corvette Challenge.
What will it do? Noone knows. The setup is basically the same and we will have to wait to see what it does. It it runs close to as good as the original engine, I will be a happy man.

I hope they're not test driving it in this downpour! If I wasn't so serious, it might be funny. How unlucky would THAT be? ;ae

Who would have guessed you could be down so long at this time of the year and miss so little. And you've still got a week to break it in before the next Challenge. Did you see the post on the Forum where the guy just did the same thing? I think it's in one of the C4 sections. He's trying to start the car (ouch).
I am to blame for most of my downtime. Took me 5 days after I broke it to get it to the doctors and called in a claim.
then I kept them waiting after the 2 weeks it took to get the claim settled to decide what I wanted as the claim paid for a new crate stocker and I strongly considered doing that.
Also considered other things. Then it took time for the parts to get in.
I will be happy just to be back in the drivers seat of my own Corvette.

Good LUCK big guy and have fun learning how fast it may be. And if it's not as fast as the old engine i know you can make even faster.

Edgar, we're all rooting for you. ;yn However, I can't believe that while Carmen & the rest of the docs had your car on the operating table that they only patched her up...and didn't add any improvements....;tu;tu Seems like the time to do it..
Mike,you are right.Final mod is a periscope.

You guys are really cruel!!!!!!!!
That is no way to talk to our most consistent drag eliminator.
Maybe SCUBA gear would be more appropriate!!!!
Best wishes Edgar.

Edgar, Sorry, Stan O'Leary took his 79 for a swim before you.
But I can sure relate to a broken motor.
