I bought a Raptor Shift Light. For lack of better words I am having a heck of a problem figuring out where to tie in the tack pulse wire. I don't know how this can be done unless you are tripple fingered and double jointed with an enimic problem and have the ability to cut a wire somewhere that you can feel but not see. Has anyone else done this? I could use some advice.

Norm,

I found this thread on the Corvette Forum with pictures. Hope it helps.

Thanks, I've seen that one but was hoping for someplace else to hook it up to. LPE installed a bunch of stuff under there that I didn't want to mess with but at this point I guess I'm going to have to remove it to get to the wire bundle.

The smartest thing for me to do would be to drive it to Pheonix or ECS and have them install it. But I spent all winter cleaning and polishing it and don't want to take it out on the roads right now.

Doesn't anyone make house calls? Seems like a pretty simple hook up. Once you get to the right bundle of wire that is.

Got it done but it took me all day. I didn't have the play in the wire bundle that were shown in the picture. My cut up hands show it. Ended up going to Auto Zone and buying a soldering gun that had a very long needle nose on it. Scrapped the insulation off the wire with a razor blade then wrapped the wire around and soldered it. I think after accomplishing this I could be a heart surgeon.

I was installing the Rapco Shift Light and Line Lock at the same time. I thought the line lock would have been more difficult but it was just the other way around.

At least you were able to get it done. So, what's next?

Todd,

I'm sure Don is fine. Last I heard he got carried away and started a frame off restoration of his car.

Line Lock? Does this mean you'll be joining us at the track more often? A few of us will be going to Maple Grove as well as Englishtown this year.

Maple Grove added more index racing for those who don't appreciate bracket racing. There's an index for every half second interval, so everyone can choose an index and run their car flat out.

Every winter I plan a project. This year was line lock and the Raptor shift light. I am not planning on drag racing until I get the DTE trans strut brace and am also thinking about the pcfadit trans brace for next winters project.

I am planning on going to a car show or two this spring then driving it and not worring about keeping it clean this summer. I also would like to do Mt. Pocono again.

Here are some pictures of this winters project.
