Cruise to R.I. Newport Mansions

Where: Newport, Rhode Island
What the heck is this about?
In Newport R.I. there are a group of mansions (http://www.newportmansions.org/page7016.cfm) that where built during America’s gilded age by Industrial Giants such as Carnegie, Vanderbilt etc...The Newport Mansions Organization www.newportmansions.org (http://www.newportmansions.org/) has returned the mansions to their original condition and has opened them for public viewing.
Why am I telling you this?
We are putting together a road trip to tour the Mansion at Newport, RI its about 260 miles a 5 to 6 hour drive from Willow Grove, PA (depending on the strength of your bladder). We will drive up on Friday Oct.2nd check into the Holiday Inn Express in Middletown (7 minute drive to the mansions) then go to dinner (TDB). Saturday and Sunday will be spent touring the mansions. Sometime during the weekend we will take a popular 10 mile scenic ocean drive cruise which came highly recomended. Monday will be the drive home.
Cost?
The cost for mansion tickets are $26 per/person if less than 20 people the cost is $31 p/p.

Hotel cost $159 plus tax per room per night. You will need a room for Oct 2, 3 & 4. The total Hotel cost including taxes for all 3 nights is $539.01
All guests must call 1-800-333-4121 and tell them your with the C.C.D.V-Corvette Club when making reservations to recieve the discounted rate. The above nightly guest room rate includes deluxe continental breakfast. The Hotel will block 20 rooms for us until Wednesday, September 2, 2009.
There is a $15.00 per person charge for more than 2 adults in a guest room.
Check-In & Check-Out
Please note our check-in time of 3:00 p.m. and checkout time of 11:00 a.m. Additional charges may arise if the check-in and checkout times are not observed.
Individual Guarantee & Cancellation Policy
Cancellation must be made 72 or more hours prior to arrival. For reservations cancelled less than 72 hours in advance, a cancellation fee equal to the first night’s room and tax will be charged and the reservation will be cancelled.
This will not be a structured tour; you may follow the group or go off on your own. You may even find your own accommodations if you wish. This is a rain or shine trip. You can drive your Vette or your Mini Van. As a matter of fact if you can defray the cost by carpooling with another couple if you wish. Whatever floats your boat is fine.
