I'm sure all Corvette owners have had the same issue with washing and drying their cars only to find drips all over the place and hitting pockets of trapped water when trying to polish your car. This has been driving me crazy for ages especially on my wife's and my daily drivers since they are both black sedans.
It's no longer a problem. Some of you are familiar with Ed (Pipedreams) on www.corvetteforum.com He runs a web site (www.nakidparts.com) were he offers some great items for your corvette that he makes himself along with items he can pass along at a discount. One such item is the Air Force Master Blaster from Metro Industries. A link to Ed's site showing the Blaster is below along with a link to the manufacturer.

Metro also makes blowers for pet groomers to dry dogs and that's how this unit came about. The Blaster is a much more powerful version that has 2 separate motors you can control independently. I've tried electric leaf blowers and they help dry a car a little but with this unit you can dry the entire car without ever touching it and that reduces surfaces scratches a whole lot. It not only provides an extremely high speed flow of air it also warms (not too hot) the air to aid in drying.
Since we have three dogs I figured we can use it to dry them off after a bath as well. Of course we'll only switch on one of the two motors or we'd have to tie the dogs down to prevent them from blowing away.
When researching the blaster I found that not only did Ed offer a great price, he included shipping as well.
If you want to see this monster in action just stop on by sometime.

Let me know when you're planning to use it on Roxie in Twin Turbo mode.
I'd like to be there for that. ;)

I originally bought the 4 hp Air Force Blaster but it did not work any better than my leaf blower so returned it for the 8 hp Master Blaster. There is a big difference between the two. The only thing you need to be careful about is with those paste on Corvette Emblems on the front license plate and rear as you can blow them right off if you get to aggressive. After washing I open the doors and blow out the underside of the door jams and eliminate that dreaded drip. If you blow the rotors off quickly there is no rust. It eliminates that xxxx mirror drip, etc. I also used it to blow out the lines of our pool this year eliminating the cost of a rental.
Word of advice from experience. The hose will violently whip around when you turn it on so make sure you are holding the end of the hose before you turn it on.

Well my right side mirror will certainly put that claim to the test! ;bl

The Master Blaster has been on my Must Buy List for about 2 months now. The leaf blower is certainly a pain in the ass to use.

Maybe you're using it improperly, did you read the instructions regarding lubrication? :D

That's real nice. I try to post a thoughtful review of a product that might be of interest to some CCDV members and you guys take the thread right into the gutter. NICE WORK:D

Thanks for the review. I've seen that posted on CF & have been debating between that & a regular Toro 220mph blower....seems like this one keeps getting great reviews. Now, what would I do with all my waffle weave microfiber drying towels? :D

The master blaster filters the incoming air so you don't just blow dust and crap all over your freshly washed car.

Mark,
Still happy with the unit after extended use now? There's another group buy on CF that really has me thinking about getting one....getting so tired of constantly cleaning up after the dreaded drips. My wife's Odyssey is the worst....water forever drips down from the sliding doors tracks.

I have had my Master Blaster for about a month now. When Ed started running a special I jumped on it. I have used it 4 times since purchase and I like it more every time I use it. I always hated drying my cars but now I look forward to drying them thanks to the Master Blaster! For those of you who own multiple cars and must keep them all clean you really need to have one of these. You'll be shocked by how much water the cracks and crevices hold. I certainly would buy this again!
