View Full Version : Helmet
YO-EL,
Maybe this would be a good time to return my helmet, since the rental charge is fast approaching the replacement cost. LOL

Does this mean you are getting your car back?
Sorry about that Lee..
I didn't have your # & got busy with the cold weather.
Its still in fine shape sitting on the shelf.
YO-EL,
You can reach me at 215-947-8123; I will be away on business Wed., and hopefully picking up my '03 in O.C., Md. on Thur. Best time to come over would be Fri. PM - call first.
Richy,
The new engine is the bay as of Tues. PM. The vette tech has to do all the connecting, attach the flywheel, alternator, fuel pump, starter, etc. The new engine is a full block sans the abovementioned acccessories. After all is done, he will start the engine (hopefully) and test drive before they release it to me. I will be at O.C. late Wed. and probably stay overnite so that I don't have to drive back in the dark with an unproven engine (altho GM supplied me with a brand new '03 long block).
I will post as soon as I get back home.

Good Luck,Lee.Weather doesn't sound too great for the end of the week.Maybe you'd be better off letting them take their time
& really test the car. Then pick it up next week.

I think if I had the chance to get a LS6 long block I certainly would, but, knowing Lee and how much he uses his car and depends on it and the warranty situation I can understand why he didn't insist on a LS6. ;yn Anyway, his car ran great as it was. However Lee, I'd wait until any wintery mix is gone before I'd pick it up. All you need is to land up in the weeds.... ;www Good luck with the new block!! ;bl
Thanks to everyone for your interest:
I AM BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am happy to report that my BABY is with me and is running just like a new vette - which, come to think, it really is. Altho I have over 22K on the clock, I now have a brand new block courtesy of my insurance company and GM.
To those of you who expressed thoughts about putting a LS6 long block in the vette, the service manager at the Chev. dealership advised me that trying to do so would present serious concerns about the remainder of my warranty, since GM may take a dim view of having a different block in my vette than it was originally designed for.
As most of you know, my vette is a daily driver as I take it everywhere I need to go. I am really hesitant about taking a chance that something would happen and GM would deny the claim because of the installation of a different block.
My plan all along has been to wait for the C6 second year of production, and then decide if I want to keep the '03 C5, or make a change in 2 years - it's too long to take a chance on any warranty issues that may arise during this interim time.
Any comments would be gratefully accepted.

I think you did the right especially since you may not be keeping the car and it is a daily driver. Good luck with it.;bt
