Guess I won't be coming to the Cruise Night this week. My Vette was hit last Friday in a gas station. I guess the pain at the pump wasn't enough? Some lady driving a Geo Tracker backed out of the gas pump area and hit the corner of the rear bumper on the passenger's side while I was stopped waiting to exit the station. The rear quarter panel on that side was cracked as well as the wheel well shroud. Some of the panels are also out of alignment. Fortunately no one was hurt but I've been sick the past few days.

That really SUCKS  ! I hate even thinking about it, people just don't care anymore. I think most have the adage of " NO BIG DEAL, THAT"S WHY I HAVE INSURANCE". I am glad that you are OK though, I would be sick also.

Ouch......Sorry to hear the news. We know your pain, and it just never goes away. After going through the same thing last year when Dennis had his 75 hit at our Cavalcade. At least with the newer cars the parts are available, which is not the case with the old ones. Fortunately no one was hurt.

Bummer, sorry to hear that. It's amazing how these things happen. I had a 85 Dodge Ram years ago. What a POS it was. I'd leave it unlocked, parked it at the closest space available. Not a ding not a scratch nothing ever happened to that thing. But every nice car I've ever owned has been a target. ?????????????? Go figure.

I must say that does suck. It is amazing as to just how many Brain Dead people are on the road today. I have about 30 years experience in the insurance business and just when you thought you have heard it all, there is ALWAYS a new twist on the next claim, which should be shocking but it is not in today's society. In many cases it is just stupidity & the lack of consideration for the other people on the highway.

Since George has 2 Corvettes maybe he'll loan you one of his to drive for a few days.

Bob,
Sorry to hear of your misfortune - come to cruise night in your daily driver, it will still be great to see you with or without the Vette!!!

I also feel your pain. I was stopped at a light when an elderly lady (?) decided to go around me on the passenger side & hit the rear bumper of our '81. Fortunately there was minimal damage. Anymore a blind chimpanzee can probably get a license to drive!

Mark, thanks for the offer, the problem is Bob tends to drive in areas of the state where there are too many crazy ladies on the road. I am looking at this from an insurance underwriters point of view.
:) ;aw :)
Bob, if you should come to cruise night, I would have no problem with you driving either one in a VERY RESTRICTED AREA of the PARKING LOT.

Thanks George but I think I'm ready for the Berlinsville Tavern? It looks like many of my fellow Vette owners have had the same painful experience. Maybe we should all go to the tavern. George and Ed could be designated drivers??

Berlinsville Tappy sounds very good. I think many of us are way overdue. A group of us should make a run up there before the Roundup, just to be sure they will have an adequate amount of spirits and ice on hand. ;bl As for a designated driver, count me OUT!

Don't start !!!!! We all know the real story. You purposely wrecked your car in order to get your wife to approve the purchase of an 08. You are not permitted to own more than 1 Vette at any given time.

Hey, at 150 K for a parking spot at his place ;aw, I would not blame Richy for wrecking the old one to get a new one.
