Todd

Check the clearance at the back of the mufflers to the rear differential. It's pretty tight there on a Z06 and can hit. If you want to drop by tonight I can take a look for you.

I'll see if mine does it Todd. I only have 1000 miles on my Z06 and have yet to make a slow speed turn. :p I'll try one today.

Hey, maybe that's a fix for you. No more slow speed turns. You have 325's on the rear....

"Clanging" doesn't really match the description, but since it's frequently asked about low speed turns I'll mention this. With the wide rear tires, particularly on Z06 with the 325's, low speed turns tend to cause the rears to kinda drag/pivot and cause an unpleasant noise. I find it particularly noticable on my C6 vert when reversing and turning. It is definitely more of a scraping sound than a clang, but just in case I thought it didn't hurt to mention it.

It sounds like something may be loose. Maybe those big tires are going to fall off.;at

And no Glenn, I do not make those high speed turns like my friends.;bl

No balls here!

Wow, I didn't even know Blue Bell had a downtown!! :p

I work down in the city, but I live in Whitpain, not far from the intersection of 73 & 202. I'm going to be installing Z06 headers and exhaust this weekend if you want to drop by!;bl

We can get you a pair like the pick-ups hang off the rear hitch. Would really look good between the exhaust tips.

Glenn, This sound was always around......but recently has become more
pronounced. I was thinking of checking my axle nuts or lug nuts.....might sounds crazy but that's what it kinda sounds like.

Mark, Thanks for the offer but I wouldn't get there till late.

Take it to Steve Spencer. The axle nuts on one side of my 2006 were loose. Also, Steve replaced the rear gear fluid because I had some sounds coming from the rear on slow left turns.

I think you may have a golf ball stuck under your car....since you have the place when are you going to have a golf outing for all of your friends at CCDV? Just a fun thought.

I had the rear fluid changed on mine a few months after I got it and it was quiet for a while but has come back. I hear GM has a new fluid that will take care of this issue.

Todd,

I'm available whenever you are. I have the correct socket to check the axle nut torque as well.

Always stunning when it's something simple, ain't it!?! Stunning, but appreciated.

Glad to hear it's resolved. ;bt
