Mark,
Same radiator is used for 69-72 small blocks and should include a surge tank on your car as it did when brand new.

That's odd. My 70 Coupe (350/350, 4 speed, with A/C) has the original radiator but no surge tank. Never had a surge tank. Did the factory forget something?

Cars with AC had different radiator, a different fan and no surge tank until 72 I think. The link below shows all the details on what combination of cooling system parts were used in 1970 Vettes.

cars that came though with brass radiators did not have an aluminum surge tank. Our 68 bb has a copper radiator and no surge tank. Probably only aluminum radiator cars had aluminum surge tanks (disimular metals)

Big block equipped 68 Vettes did not have expansion tanks. The cooling systems (radiators, expansion tanks, fans, etc) were changed starting in 1969 due to cooling problems with the 68's.

69 small blocks with AC had a copper radiator with a Harrison Aluminum expansion tank.

Big blocks had the brass expansion tank.
While it means little, I have only seen one 69 without a Harrison expansion tank.

The best way to know what is correct for a specific year Corvette is to order an NCRS judging book. It details exactly what the car should or shouldn't have in it. Before I bought my 72 I got one and found it very helpful in deciding the value of a particular car.

That is exactly where I got my info - plus I have one to look at.

did anyone actually answer mark's question or did we just make him more confused then he was before he asked?

I had a 69 Coupe that I picked up a few years back just to flip.
It was a 350/350, 4 spd, no air. Harrison aluminum rad and Harrison aluminum expansion tank.
You should have the expansion tank.
Rick.

Yes. See post #2. 1969 with 350/350 engine and NO A/C = surge tank
