View Full Version : Headlight weatherstripping

About 2-4 inches of the rubber seal (weather strip) between the body and transparent plastic covers over the headlights has been pushed in on my C6. This was caused by inserting the headlight tabs (as per the instructions) of a Speed Lingerie Bra betwen the rubber seals and body.
I've tried fishing them out with a bent paper clip, but no luck. Is there a way to remove the transparent covers over the headlight units so that I can reposition the seals? If not, any suggestions will be appreciated.

The covers are part of the headlight bucket assembly so the lens can't be removed. I've seen the rubber seal on many C6's and it sticks up on some, down on others and can even vary on each headlight. I've pulled mine up carefully with a pair of neddle nose plyers. I wrapped the jaws off the plyers with black electrical tape first to prevent damage to the rubber and the paint. That seemed to work pretty well.
If you want to drop by with your car I'll take a look and see if I can correct your issue for you.
Best regards
