View Full Version : Trouble logging in
I posted this in the trouble section also but in the event anyone misses it,,I've been having problems logging onto the site,,I can enter my user name and pass and it welcomes me to the site,,but then when the list of forums appears I'm no longer logged in and can't respond to or make a new post,,the only way I'm here now is because I'm using Mozilla Firefox for my browser,,if anyone else notices a lack of new posts others may be having this problem.

I have no problem logging in but there is no "new posts" button. It's a pain to see what's new since my last visit. Anyone else?

I agree - no new posts button and I have had issues where it looks like I am logged in, but can't post.

OK, since others are having the same issues, I'm moving the thread into the proper forum where WebGuy can see it (he doesn't read the rest of our forums and is the only one to resolve these issues).
Bill, if Jeff doesn't check back soon will you please call him, thanks.
I'm still having problems,,can only log in using FireFox,,does anyone think it may be due to cookies being blocked,,like I said in my original post,,if I use the browser in AOL,,which I beleive, but not sure is i.e,,,I can log in,,screen says welcome (or whatever),,redirects me to the forum list,,but I'm not logged into the site,,if I try to post or reply to a post it redirects me to the log on sreen again.
Having same problem.Asks me to login,I respond with name & PW,accepts it,&
returns me to original opening screen.........
Using Outlook Expr.
This is really wierd but after reading it in another thread here and then trying it,,its seems to work,,at least for the time being. I've still had problems logging onto the site even using i.e,,,I've had to use FireFox to get on,,,,anyway what I did was enter my user name and my password and then check off,,"remember me",,doing that allowed me to access the site. Right now I'm using AOL so it seems to work even here but then I believe AOL uses internet explorer as its browser.
I just tried logging on using i.e and the way I previously explained and it didn't work,,I'm not shown as logged in and can't post or reply,,so I just re-logged on using AOL. If this is the only way it will work so be it,,at least I'm here.

I'm using IE 7.0, no problems logging in. Check your cookie settings. If your settings are too restrictive it won't remember you next time but it may not explain why you can't login at all. It may be possible that your settings are keeping the "thanks for logging in, press procede button..." from being seen.
Did all this happen immediately after Webguy made the changes or is it possible you made changes since the last time it worked correctly? Try saving your settings as custom and then choose the least security to login. If it works, you know where to start looking. If it doesn't, go back to your custom settings while we figure it out.
Actually I always previously had to use IE,,but could occassionally log in while on AOL. I still can't log on using IE even with the lowest settings,,I always did get the "thank you for logging in Fire".then sent to the next screen that shows the home page and I'm not logged in,,,,,,,well this is really getting strange,,,I just tried to log in using IE (with my normal security settings),,I entered my name and pass,,the usual thing happened,,took me to the home page,,shown as not logged in,,,what I did was click on "home" sort of refreshing the page and all of a sudden I was logged in.
Just double checked,,even with the last way I logged in I stilll have to check,,"remember me" so perhaps the refreshng of the page didn't do what I throught it did. Anyway I'm here and thats all that counts.
