My Cordovan Maroon 1968 Corvette Coupe with saddle interior was a Christmas present in 1981 from my husband Dennis. It was purchased at a Volvo dealership in Lansdale Pa., which is no longer in business. The car has a 390 horsepower, 427 engine and automatic transmission. It had 44,000 miles on it when purchased and today only has 62,000 miles. The farthest distance traveled with this car was Corvettes at Carlisle.
I used this car daily for three years. We then found out we were expecting our first child and I could no longer fit behind the wheel of the Corvette. It was then time to purchase a family car. We then decided to have the car repainted and retired to the garage. The car now comes out of the garage occasionally from April to October. This car took first place in our clubs first Slow Drag Race at our Cavalcade in 2006.
I have been a member of C.C.D.V. since 1982 and became a lifetime member in 2007. I have enjoyed many activities with this car including drive-in movies, parades, Hot Dog Runs, caravans and car shows. The most enjoyment I get out of having this car is the friendships we have made through the years.
