Great day for racing with new personal best for a few of us racers. :D I finally ran in the 12's today. 1st run 12.966@107.35 with a 1.963 60'. Backed that up with a 12.991@106.5 with a 1.951 60'. Third time shot went 13.01 and 1st round in Elims went 13.05 with a big red eye looking at me. Even with the first round redlight it was a great day. I'll let the others chime in with how they did. Edgar lasted the longest in the Corvette Challenge. Ellis was the man again today in Trophy Marathon. Way to go El!! Next week is the Top 16 at ETown. The CCDV will be represented by several members. I'll be waiting in the wings in case someone drops out or doesn't show. Last race of the season. :(
Congrats on the 12's Tony. Nice job.
WEnt to dinner afterwards and El joined us so he won't be home for a while but he was flin' high alright.

Congrats to Tony & Al who both made it into the 12's today. I made it through the first round and then went up against Edgar in round 2. My light was terrible but I wasn't satisfied with letting Edgar win by being asleep at the tree, so I made sure I broke out as well!

CONGRATS Tony! ;bt
I know the 12s have been a long time coming. The cool weather had to help. ;)
Yes, definite big CONGRATS to Tony & Al for hitting the 12's! ;bc
DA was about -200, your cars ran great!
Congrats to Edgar for going 3 rounds I believe!
You are a FORCE!!!!
I lost in round 2 on a .006 light & running a 12.06 on a 12.04 dial.. My opponent cut a .011 light but ran a 13.69 on a 13.68 dial.
My fault, I lifted at the trap cone instead of at the stripe.
A lesson learned as Edgar pointed out to me:
"Don't EVER give up the stripe". "When you have to chase someone down, and they are more than 1 second ahead, you have to run it out, and chance a breakout." Don't ever give up the stripe."
I will remember that.
In Trophy Marathon, I went 4-0. Then won the King of the Hill.
Car is running good, I'm cutting good lights.
Definitely psyched for next week!
THANKS to Tony & ROSE for hauling up the tires & jack!!!
THANKS ROSE for the pizza at the end of the night!
THANKS AL for the bottle of water!
MAJOR & SPECIAL THANKS to LEE for lending me his helmet, as I left mine at home, and was heading for the old rental when he offered it to me!
Can I use it again next week??? haha...
Maybe I should buy it off you! :D

Yes, I knew the car had it but it was just the question of right conditions and being able to get out of the hole. Al ran great as mentioned getting into the 12's on all three of his time shots. Lee Sofer came up to lend support to us(and his helmet to EL) and Ken Lynch took some great shots of our cars on the line. Thanks guys! I should also mention there was an unusual amount of carnage at the track, ending with a race-only midyear kissing the wall at the traps in the semi's of the Quick 8, driver was OK. It was a long day to say the least!
El, you again have proven to be an exceptional racer with a great running car. Congrats. ;bt
Joe, didn't you have a new best also getting on the brakes?

No, my best was actually 12.49 at Atco a few weeks ago. But yesterdays 12.66 was my best at E-town thus far.
Congrats El on another King of the Hill! Simply amazing...

Have to chime in here since this was an all time best outing for the car. 1.95 60' leaving off idle. 12.98, 12.93, 12.94 in that order. Previous best was at Atco over a year ago at 13.02
The -300 feet DA was a big plus!! :D
Went out the first round with an .03 red and lots of wheel spin to boot.
Thanks to Tony and Rose for the ever present truck and support and congrats to everyone for a great year for CCDV.
El you are awesome!
All you top 16'ers go get em next week.
Congrats to all the racers on Sat. It was fun being with you all, even tho I was vetteless.
Special accolades to Tony and Al for breaking 13!!! You guys are simply great!
Ellis, I'll trade you my helmet for 2 tenths next season!
Otherwise, I'll expect you to return same after dry cleaning. LOL
