I just wanted to stop in and introduce myself. I just picked up a '98 Corvette coupe this past weekend and am very excited to have it. It's the third Corvette I've owned. Long story as short as possible...I've always been a car fanatic since I was old enough to know what a car was. The first real "weekend toy" car I was able to afford was a 1980 Corvette, which was gold with a thick black stripe (yeah, it was a little odd, but it was all I could afford and I was proud of it). I had that back in 1999-2000. I was a CCDV member then. Had a few other sports cars after that until I wound up with a FFR Shelby Cobra 427 S/C replica for 4 years. That car was my baby. Loved it to death. The wife and I founded the local Cobra club and are still active in it. Sold it after a change of job and the birth of our first son. I just never had time to drive it. Eventually wound up with a '99 Corvette, which I bought in the summer of '06. I was thrilled with it. My wife and I decided to have another kid. Well...surprise, we had twins. So right away the 'Vette had to go to finance a minivan as soon as we found out. Fast foward one year and I'm back in a position to get a sports car. While I'm always going to love Cobras, and eventually hope to have another one, the 'Vette fits exactly what I'm looking for right now. A world class sports car with some bit of practicality (I can lock the doors, roll up the windows, have a roof, a/c, heat...the real luxuries... :D )

Here are some of the mods done to my car. This fit my bill perfectly as I wanted a car with some mods, and it has the Z51 option too.

MOTOR;
Stock Bottom end LS1
LG Motorsports G5X3 cam on a 114 lsa
TRICKFLOW Heads cnc, milled to 60cc, Dual springs, Titanium retainers
HARLAND SHARP rockers
FAST intake
90mm Ls2 throttle body
30# SVO injectors
ABEAR Polished aluminum valve covers
LG headers
CORSA INDY exhaust w/ tiger shark tips
ASP under drive pulley
HALLTECH air intake
160 degree thermostat
Taylor plug wire
NGK plugs
Ported oil pump
Ported throttle body
Double roller timing chain
HP Tuner Custom dyno tuning

Anyway, with working 50+ hours a week and having 3 young kids, my twins are now 6 months and my oldest is almost 4, time is pretty limited. But my wife and I hope to join you guys for a few events this year. Almost definitely the 4th of July parade, as my sister lives right along the route. If you're in the Pennsburg area, drop me a line and say hello. Here are some shots of my car, taken by the previous owner...the weather has been too nasty for me to take my own pictures.

Welcome back and I hope you join the club. A lot of things have happen the last three years and a lot of our activities are family oriented so that everyone can enjoy the fun.

Can you make this Thursday's meeting as our guest? It's at the VE club in Warminister and starts at 8:00 pm. There is also food that gets put out at 7:15 pm.

And 'Yes', you do want to make the July 4th parade in Oreland as that parade is as American as 'Motherhood and Apple Pie'.

Hope you can make this Thursday's meeting.

Thanks gang. I certainly do hope to make one of the Warminster meetings. Definitely can't be tomorrow, as it's the twins first Valentines day and if I miss it, my wife will make sure it's my last! You'll probably see me most on the forums and at some weekend events. During the week I get home from work at 6pm, and as soon as I take off my coat I'm non-stop baby and child handling until 8:30, then get up at 4:30am the next morning to go to work and do it all over again.

I'm really glad to hear that many of the events are family oriented. My nearly 4 year old is a chip off the old block. He loves cars (and trucks and monster trucks), so he'd enjoy some events. On my list for sure are the 4th of July parade and the Cavalcade.

Do you guys do any "informal" CCDV shows/cruises beyond the Cavalcade? As I mentioned, my wife and I started the local Cobra club. It's much smaller than CCDV, and is a very loose knit group. But part of our club is a yearly gathering in Washingtons' Crossing Park. It's a basically Cobras only bbq and cruise. We generally draw 40+ Cobras, which is pretty good considering how few Cobras are around. It's just a fun, relaxing gathering. Don't get me wrong at all, not in the least making any negative comments about the Cavalcade and I intend to be there. I was just curious if there are any other local Corvette specific informal gatherings.

We do a Cruise night all summer (actually from April till October) at the Lowes in Warrington's parking lot. Plus, this year, I'll make sure I'm down there giving out free ice & Rita's coupons for the little guys too! ;bt
